I finally got the chance to unbox my ED haul that arrived yesterday!

Question... a few of these boxes (MAC packaging) arrived opened, which is not a big deal because it seems to be a common issue? However, I did notice that my DD looks like this. The top part has areas that are lighter - is this normal? And the bottom part looks like it has a fingerprint?

That was the first thing I noticed before I even opened the compact. I inspected everything else and they all looked fine.

Is that Shape the Future? And if so, interesting! I was not gonna purchase anything, but caved and bought this today.. Absolutely love it, but non the less, mines had that "fingerprint" in the same spot

(except that there is no fingerprint in the lighter part... I have two in the darker shade)

I tried using the Hourglass #2, and you're right, you do get a lot better colour payoff with that brush. I was finding that even Flaming Chic wasn't showing up that much on me, but it's fine with the #2. I found it even worked better when I held the brush close to the tip and sort of squeezed the brush as i swept the blush over my cheek, which made it perform like it was a denser brush. I got that idea from a YouTube video I saw somewhere, where someone said if you have a retractable kabuki and don't pull it all the way out when you use it, it makes the brush more dense. I also believe that waxy layer might be deeper than we think because now that I've used it more and really scrubbed my brush over it, it's a lot more pigmented. I don't think it's all getting removed with just a Q-tip, at least not this particular colour, unless you rubbed it pretty hard.
I'm glad the brush worked for you with the ED blushes. I think what swayed me towards that brush is I anticipated these blushes to be sheer. More work appropriated blushes for me. Anyway, I immediately gravitated towards my HG #2 brush and it was the perfect match:) I just don't think any of my more higher end blush brushes would've worked.

I have been trying to catch up on this thread for ages, and I'm still about 30 pages behind. I'll never catch up at this rate.

I'm around NW10 - NW15, and am trying to decide which blush(es) to get. Could someone advise, please? I'm 47, so older skin, if that helps, brunette (with natural silver highlights) with dark brown eyes.

I hope to get most, if not all the eyeshadows - I can't resist them. Undecided on skinfinishes as yet, but might be considering Definitely Defined - any views on that?

I almost bought it because of that since that color is an LE and highly unlikely to join the UD lineup. It's Aura (one of the dual shadows) in Glinda. I loved that one because it was so different and unique to anything in ,my collection. If it's still available Thursday morning when I go to test and possibly purchase some Baking Beauties items then I'll go ahead and get it. I liked Zestful also but initially I have no intention on getting any shadows...I have several unused, unopened ones that I need to get rid of as it is from other brands, but as usual my addiction is strong and I fold easily lol
yup that's the one I immediately thought of! Opalesse seems just a tad darker pink. if it sticks around ill prob get it lol I have t used my orbit from last year once so I kno what u mean! lol It seems like I enjoy BUYING makeup more than I like wearing it lmao! Zestful is amazing in person I wasn't planning to get it at all!

I wonder if this is why the EDSF are missing from the MAC site for so long after the release date (it's been over a week). They would take a huge hit to release these and then have to take a big % of them back. That doesn't explain why the retail MAC stores have it in stock tho...

I haven't used any of my items but I'll certainly keep all of these issues in mind. I'll try the Q-tip method anyway---can't hurt. I'll probably start w/ my 128 brush because it's amazing for picking up product, especially blush.

That was Definitely Defined, but my STF has prints too on different areas of the ridges.

A picture paints a thousand words---I had a similar issue w/an eyeshadow from another collection. I snapped a picture, E-mailed it and they sent another to me immediately.
My zestful box was beat up also, and that product also, what looks like a finger pring. NOrdies customer service has pissed me off. The rep kept saying the product that you "claim" is damaged. In all of the years I've ordered, I've NEVER called customer service.
I am impressed with Macy's response. Not only was nordies dismissive, I also have to go through the hassle of returning the product and paying for a new order.

I have that brush too, but I'm turning into a brush whore and this is giving me an excuse to buy the hourglass brush. LOL
