RiRi Hearts MAC Summer Collection (June 18, 2013)

Oops, you're right. I believe Rocker was the last one and Diva immediately left from Rocker. Hmmm. I'm having a lazy day, complete with chapped lips, but my intention is to do a lip comparison tomorrow, with the left half of my lips with Diva and the right side with Rocker or vice versa.

Actually, since we're having a ball witt our super duper springy gloomy weather, I decided to wear Rebel last week. Rebel and Diva are indeed colours I usually wear in autumn or winter with an occassional use in the other season when it is this happy happy, joy joy weather. In fact, apart from deeply adored all of those reddish colours fit into my preferred autumn / winter category. Deeply Adored is one size fits all.

And I KNOW you would

Ok thanks that helps. I love Rocker and have a BU, but it would be nice to have something a bit darker and knowing it is perm.

Deeply Adored is just bright enough to fit with more springy and summery weather. I love that one so much!
I hope I can place a Nars order next month or the month after and I'll make sure to think about Carthage! Is the formula similar to Mac mattes?

Off the top of my head Diva feels better on the lips too. Rebel looks better IRL than in the picture and you can choose to wear it true to colour with beet for example, but I often like to vamp it up with Vino or Currant.

Yes, I think you can compare it to the new mattes from MAC. It is a matte, vibrant hot pink. Luuuurve it. (not as much as PaPa and Impassioned, but very close and I could be a distant cousin of PaPa). I consider PaPa (and impassioned) in a league of their own, with Carthage and Ablaze as distant relatives leaning towards another colour if that makes sense. Same intensity, same vibe

, different colours. By the way: there are also a few reds in the same formula (pure matte) which I might end up with one day, but for now, I tell myself I have enough reds

I also have a couple of semi mattes from NARS, but I somehow don't really like the scent. Not enough to put me off per se, but if I have to choose between MAC or NARS, I'll go with MAC. The pure mattes feel and smell different. (I am sure that Mascate and perhaps Vesuvio will end up in my cart one day). The tube is very similar to the mattenes from MAC, slightly longer and slim. Nice and intense and long wearing.

And yes, the weather this year =

I think I might have to try those Nars Pure Matte lipstick then! Carthage sounds amazing and I'm sure I could get a lot of use out of that one. I'm also interested in Amsterdam (yep also for the name). I don't think I have anything like it. I have to look into the other colours too and most likely the reds will be the ones I'm attracted to the most too...
I'm also wanting the Dragon Girl pencil (yes of course another red). I think I can at least leave the normal matte lipsticks for now thanks. I love the packaging of the Mac Mattenes, so it's nice that the Nars packaging is similar.

Definitely brick over beet. No question. I wouldn't even wear beet with DA. Two completely different colours.

TBH, I think you can pair both with Deeply Adored.

Well, if you're placing an order at cher François, you might give Carthage a spin. I had my heart set on Amsterdam (yes, the name + red triggered me) until I read somewhere that it has the tendency to lean brown, which is usually not a good look for me. Mascate and perhaps Vesuvio will make it home, but for now I am restraining myself. I am sure that Dragon Girl is a safe choice. Since it is a cool toned, yet bright red, you can't go wrong with that one. No way that will be a misfit amongst your reds.

Well I have Schiap, Fire Down Below and Scarlet Empress from the semi mattes. I tend to favour Pink Pigeon, although on me Schiap is it's twin colourwise. Fire Down Below is just a smidgen too brown for me, but the marketing strategy of a true blood red (you know, the actual colour that blood has) which took two years to develop suckered me right in and Scarlet Empress is ok too, but it doesn't make my top 10 l/s.

And I know I am a weirdo, but the scent of the semi mattes somehow reminds me of pritt glue sticks. Don't ask me why...

I love vamping up rebel with currant! My sister said I look like a drag queen when I do it o.0 but she's 17 and knows nothing about make up and is all about the natural make up look... Being sisters I naturally want to yell in her face, cake makeup or natural makeup STILL makeup and you look tired without it lol guess I just hate the natural" vs "cake" war..end rant. Lol But I do love it! I'm also with the deep colors being saved for fall? Or night wearing. We get crappy weather so sometimes if I have the full scarf look I might sneak it out and say f it lol. I love deeply adored but have only worn it once last year. You would think I don't love it but last year I had a lot of loves lol like I love strong woman but have yet to wear it LOL

I love Legendary Mattene and that's a brownbased red, so I think I'll like Amsterdam and it's quite unique to my collection. Mascate and Vesuvio look amazing! They seem darker than most reds I have, so I guess I can justify. I think I'm also liking Terre de Feu and Volga.

Schiap has been out of stock like forever, but since I have Pink Pigeon, Embrace Me etc. I probably don't need it right now. Fire Down Below looks very interesting. I think I like that and Scarlet Empress. I'm also liking Heat Wave, Jungle Red, Red Lizard, Shanghai Express, Transeurope Express, Trans Siberian and Viridiana. So basically most of the colours It will be hard to choose my first ones.

I like Beet with DA, I know it's not the same colour and therefore I need to be careful I blend it well, but the end result looks great. I would like something that doesn't need as much blending though so it's good to know Brick matches better.

Unfortunately, my mouth seems really crooked in this pic, but it was the only one that actually shows the glitter, be it subtle (and heaven knows I am not the dab and smoosh type). The glitter is slightly more visible IRL imo but not that obvious either. If you're a true connaisseur you'll find that in swatches Rocker is the teeeeeeeeeeniest smidgen more red and diva more wine, but when applied and (only) outlined with the same lip pencil (Vino), you can't really tell, can you. But I need both...

I don't have much frosts, but Angel is a very nice one. I might actually rate them higher than lustres too. I thought Nightmoth would be too dark for Diva. I really want to match it as close as possible. Unfortunately I sort of broke up with my local counter so I can't swatch it next to all the lipliners to find the best match. I try to do it from online swatches now. I also have Currant, but I think that's still too dark and purple. I could look into Burgundy and Vino.

I wear nightmoth with my diva and It looks great on my complexion, not sure about lighter skin though just give it a try and try not to go too dark with the liner.

I imagine it being pretty as a ombre lip, but I usually don't go for that. Nightmoth matches Prince Noir lipstick and I want Diva to be lighter, so I'm quite sure I would prefer a lighter liner.
