Yeah, it's killing me. How am I supposed to know if I need 6 or 12 of each? ;P

50p last year and a pound the year before! The price increase usually affects all countries, though the increase does vary from country to country. What was the last increase in the UK on lippies? 50 p?
Ahh, my eyes fooled me. ThanksIt's actually almost the exact same amount.
I have a rather worn but still excellent makeup brush - fairly large paddle brush with a lacquered wooden handle and all natural hairs. Revlon - late 60s or early 70s. The best lip brush i own is Revlon - in a luxurious looking "gold" container - it's retractable - slide the lid on the bottom and it pushes the brush up, take it off and the brush slides down. There was a time when Revlon was about where MAC is today, in terms of quality (at the time) and market.
Back in MY day. Mid-late 70's, early 80's when I was a young girl trying to get her first taste of makeup (gloss, shadow).
Well, they aren't priced like a luxury brand, they're priced like mid-range brands (available at sephora) i left in my quote. The real luxury brands are nearly twice as much or more than MAC. I own a couple higher end lipsticks (in the $30+ range), but i'm not convinced the ones i have are worth twice as much as a MAC lipstick. And I'm really not ready to fork out $50 or more for a Guerlain,Tom Ford, Sisley, La Prairie, or Cle de Peau lipstick. It'll take some seriously detailed information to convince me that one Cle de Peau is really worth 3 or 4 MACs.stila $22 Right. They are NOT a luxury brand so they shouldn't try to start pricing themselves as if they were. Before you know it they'll be $20, then $22, then $25. I'm not expecting things to stay the same because I know prices go up, the cost of living, all of that. But will the prices go up while the brand stays the same?
Not funny Mrs Enabler---as if MAC isn't enough---my Dior blush will be here on Friday, thanks to you----I'm so excited. Nabbed the three new Dior NPs too!

Wow. You still have it? That's likely because you've taken really good care of it.I have a rather worn but still excellent makeup brush - fairly large paddle brush with a lacquered wooden handle and all natural hairs. I know that the quality wasn't quite so good by the 80s, compared to department store brands. Before then European brands weren't so readily available in the US.
I think the oldest brush I have is my Prescriptives foundation brush...I've had that for 16 years! I thought that was pretty good but you definitely have me beat!I have a rather worn but still excellent makeup brush - fairly large paddle brush with a lacquered wooden handle and all natural hairs.
