If that's how Rio looks on NC20 skin, it might be too light and frosty for NC50.

However, Sweet Samba is back on my list!
Rio is the one I was most curious about and while it appears to be pretty, it isn't looking anything like I thought it would. I don't think I was expecting as much pink. It's pretty though.

Rio looks gorgeous and pinky, I thought it would be coppery. If it's pinky like those swatches I'm sold!

I was thinking the same thing but based on Jade81 swatch (I belive she said she was a NW45/NC50) and from what she said she said its pretty and she didnt see any "silver in it" more bronze I believe.... Jade81 please correct me if Im wrong

Copperhead,

Which one, if any, are you going to get?
Well, Rio was the one I THOUGHT I wanted but I'm not so sure now. I mean, how different will it look on my cheeks compared to Petticoat and Redhead which I already have? If Rio is just going to look pink or frosty on my cheeks then I can just stick with what I have. This collection is in stores right? I may have to go check this stuff out in person now.

Thank you!!

I'm also an NC40 and I'm wondering which MSF will look best on me to highlight the cheeks and nose??
You won't want to highlight your nose with ANY of these, unless you want to look like you have a metal nose.

Like I've been saying, these are fantasy-style cheek highlighters all the way. Anywhere else on the face and you are going to be getting into a really theatrical look. They're pretty wild looking even just on the cheeks in a very sheer wash.

In the picture, rio is really reminding me of my Blonde MSF, which I do own and love... I'm not sold on anything yet! Which is a good thing since I don't want to give mac my money. *besides the 159 hehehehe*

I didn't find any of the MSFs glittery, but they're very metallic - and Lust is a bit frosty as well. The blushes have some sparkle like the Apres Chic blushes did - you'll only see the sparkle in some lights and if you buff them in, it won't read as sparkle after that, just glow. Exotic Ember probably has the most of this. Thanks for providing all these photos and also mentioning how many swipes your friend used for them. OK, just want to comment. The blush picture with flash is VERY accurate for everything, including the lipstick, but it missing one factor: all the blushes are kind of duo-chrome, with a highlight color that shows quite strongly at the right angle. Simmer has a peach sheen, EE has a orange sheen, like a tangerine orange, not too dark, and SS is the most natural with the least amount of duo-chrome, but the sheen is a warm neutral that's just glowy looking. All the blush swatches; well, you would probably be applying them more lightly than what's here and they will let your skin tone come through from beneath a bit - this is especially nice with EE, which looks great if your skin is fair to medium. Definitely try it on, it really accentuates the bone structure phenomenally.  The MSF pictures are not super accurate, because when you use more than one layer of these MSFs, the metallic highlight becomes really dense (a little too dense for what anyone would want to wear without looking costumey) and these photos are only picking up the highlight as it's bouncing light off, without really showing the underlayer. They're also both kind of washed out and don't capture how bright the highlight is in any of the colors. Don't look at these and assume these MSFs are the colors here like a blush - they're not. They're all quite sheer with only a highlight that is bright and colorful, but only when it catches the light. From some angles, especially Rio and Adored will look like you're not even wearing anything and just have even skin, then boom, suddenly the light will hit just right and you will get a super metallic flash of color. I'd say don't confuse yourself with these MSF pictures - just wait till people do more full face shots - those will be the only ones that will be accurate. People who do videos on youtube will probably have the absolutely best way of displaying these MSFs. They're pretty different!!!!! You won't want to highlight your nose with ANY of these, unless you want to look like you have a metal nose. :nope:  Like I've been saying, these are fantasy-style cheek highlighters all the way. And you've changed my mind again! Lol!!! Oh boy... So I guess I will be getting a few after-all lol!

metal nose! lol You mean it's not cute if I look like the Tin Man??

Well, I guess I'm on the fence on the MSF. I will check them out in person next week. Anywho, I do swear by my S&G and I haven't even made a dent in it.

I'm sure you already have a heart!

I'd say everyone should try the MSFs and blushes in person if possible - especially the MSFs. They're very unique, especially because they're good about not accentuating the pores, even though they're so metallic, but they probably won't be for everyone's tastes. Out of all the blushes and MSFs combined, I'd say Simmer is the most accessible, Rio will be the 100% surefire bet for very dark complexions and Exotic Ember is the most natural looking (but only for fair to med. - that orange has a white base and definitely turned ashy right before my eyes on one of the MAs, who was probably NW50.)

Rio looks prettier than I first thought but highlighters with a pink sheen look a bit odd and unnatural on me. I'm a little less enthused about the blushes after those swatches. My only definite pick that I haven't changed my mind on is Adored MSF.

^^ BeautyByLeLe, ok, now see in jade's swatch, that's kind of how Redhead MSF looks on my cheeks. I don't know now. Maybe I need to see just a few more swatches

I can't decide if i want any if the MSF's,the metallicness is leaving me unsure. If it's not something i can wear everyday do i really need it? I'll just have to go to my counter next week and swatch, although, that normally means i buy more than planned. My list so far: 159 Orpheus Adored (mayyyybe)

i really want you ladies to try Rio before you skip!! Rio is gorge on the skin!! I did swipe some on my cheekbone but didn't take a pic of that bc I just put a little on my finger to swipe it. Remember when I swatch my hand with Rio, I used my fingers. I think when we actually apply Rio with a brush its gonna be gorge on our skin. Rio is really different in terms of a highlight. Rio actually looks more natural like an everyday kinda highlight compare to all of my other highlights which are golden and bronzy. The pink mixed with the brown makes Rio really natraul and soft looking but with subtle sheen/glow! I've called MUAs all over @ different pro stores, and I keep hearing "Rio is gonna be beautiful on your skin!" My personal MUA also said "Rio hands down!" Ladies...don't sleep on Rio!!!;)

So I missed out on heroine and ablaze l/l in fashion sets. I've been using NYX orange and purple rain l/l instead. Do you guys think it's necessary to have matching l/l for my heroine and ablaze lippies? Idk I can't decide. My NYX alternatives pretty much get the job done. Although I was curious about ablaze. I wasn't sure if maybe the NYX liner was making it more orange than it really is or that's the actual color. This is what I think about at 5am. Smh. Lol

I actually have all of those liners, however I don't think it was necessary. That was my first collection and I got carried away. The heroine liner is pretty close to purple rain, as far as lining your lips. Orange and ablaze looks different, but still not worth me getting a bu of it. Only got ablaze liner because of pocket and bows influence on youtube. lol.
