As annoyed as we all are at Sephora I think it is safe to say that the collection will still sell out simply because its Disney and thats why Sephora doesnt give a damn probably. Makeup junkies and women who never wear makeup will still buy it simply because Ariel's face is on it. I remember women (who never dare to wear a red lippie in public and or dare to walk inside a mac store) being upset over not being able to buy ririwoo when it first launched simply because it was Riri.
Seriously? When I saw there was collection with her I didn't care what was offered. I would never even consider wearing a product with her name on it. I never even looked at the products in the collection. I agree she is a beautiful woman. However she stated in an interview after she was beaten to a pulp that this would give her the opportunity to be a role model for young girls and let them know they do not deserve to be treated that way. It is not a healthy relationship. She was right in that. So many young girls look up to her. She freakin blew it. she not only didn't follow through she went back to the abusive trashy thug and then went on to flaunt it. She said what her PR wanted her to say so not to affect her sales. She is a very talented young woman. Sadly with a screwed up sense of what a respectful relationship Should be. She is a disgrace to all women, particularly to those of us who have been battered and beaten by a spouse or boyfriend. She had the chance to stand up as a celebrity and be a spokesperson. And her general fan base is the target age to reach and make a difference in these girls life, perhaps even save a life. She's pathetic.
Not to be rude or anything, but this whole thing was rehashed a million times over in the original RiRi collection thread. That being said, I think what you're saying is quite harsh. I'm not going to downplay the atrocity that is domestic violence -- it is a vile and terrible thing no matter which way it goes (men hitting women, men hitting men, women hitting men, women hitting women). It's not right. It never will be right. It is one of the many things in this world that I wish would cease to exist. I'm not condoning Rihanna's decisions. I'm not a stan; in fact, I've grown to dislike what she's evolved into. But Rihanna's life is her own, and so are her choices. Whether or not the general public chooses to involve ourselves in her life is of our own volition. Her celebrity status, IMO, does not require her to be a role model. If she wants to be with CB, why should she have to factor the world's opinion on the matter before her own? Do I think their relationship is unhealthy? Definitely. Do I wish they weren't together? Yes. But at the end of the day, they are, and I'm not going to vilify her for her actions. All these reasons for why she
should be able to rise above this -- the fact that she has the means and resources to -- don't matter if she doesn't see the need to utilize them. And no, I don't think that makes her "pathetic" or "a disgrace to all women." I think that just makes her a young woman who's horribly misguided. She's not the only one out there, either. /: Tl;dr version: I don't get why or how everyone expects her to be a spokeperson or role model for
other people when she obviously has yet to even figure things out for herself. Things have to be taken a step at a time. /mytwocents Back on topic... so, how about that mirror and the fact that it's still not in stock? -____-
