Nope, I did a live chat yesterday and they're not aware of any forthcoming price reductions either. She asked where I'd heard that the prices had gone down - ummm, on the MAC US site!! Not like I had some super secret insider info LOL! I've posted in the Clearance Bin, but not sure how often anyone reads there - if anyone in the US would do a CP for some of these for me, I'd be very grateful.

I called a MAC store last night and she said the inserts were $9.00. So I'm assuming the prices are online only right now? That sucks because I'd rather grab my inserts instead of waiting for the restock. I'm going to call them back and another store to see what's up. This is weird and inconsistent. ETA: the price change will be in effect at the stores. I'm going to try to grab some tomorrow and cancel my order if I'm successful. My palettes shipped. I have to run out and buy the inserts tomorrow. This price change is everything! I'm sure MAC is now more in tune with the rest of the palette systems out there as far as price. Those inserts should have never been $9.00, when they were built in before, lol Now if they can just adjust the quad price...

Glad the prices went down on the palettes. I put two of the duo sided large palettes on hold for pick-up later.

Is it just me or regardless of which magnet I use to hold my shadows/blushes, they seem to fall off the palette. I just have to be extra careful when I am opening my palette.

The double? If so, that happens to mine. I have MAC pans and depots, that's why I'm going to get the dividers.

Looks like the new prices have not reached UK yet :hmm: . I have a question about palettes - not MAC related (yet?) - could anyone suggest a good palette for those 36mm eyeshadows? (not interested in the upcoming Mac one if they house only 8/palette).
http://www.tkbtrading.com/item.php?item_id=1524&category_id=65 This is what i bought when i depotted my PLW shadows and mega metal shadows. They're a bit of a tight fit, but i just used a putty knife and pushed em in. And they ship internationally too!

They did, but not by much.

Hold the palette in both hands. Twist both hands in opposite directions, like you're twisting an ice cube tray. The insert will pop out, allowing you to remove the pans. It's pretty easy.
are you talking about the premade quads?

I don't think I like the duo palettes. Too bulky, I might just stick with the single ones.

No the empty ones. You can't pop the pans out of the pre-made ones unless you completely tear them apart. And i agree about the duos. Unless you're a pro, they're far too bulky, and even then they're still too bulky. But on the other hand, instead of having 4 single shadow palettes floating around in my kit, i only have 2.

Oh, thank you!! This looks perfect! I have 12 shadows exactly looking for a home. They are not Mac though, and their size is actually 35-36 mm, so it really could be perfect.

Ages ago I posted a pic of my oldie Mac Large Palette where I have my Mega Metals. It has 8 slots, and I had to force the pans in, too, and will never get them out without the shadows breaking.

Even with the price decrease, I decided to skip these palettes. I went to ACW and they have SMH palettes (which fits regular MAC e/s) on sale as were many of the nice SMH e/s as well. Happy Hauling ladies. They have some Z palettes for sale either, and those magnets fit great. Thank to Erine for the tip, I am going to check out TKB for the palettes to fit the bigger MAC e/s like the Mega Metals and have a depot party...

I put everything in my palettes with the new inserts and have 2 shadows left. I guess I'll be grabbing a new eyeshadow (x2 pan) duo tomorrow. They are 5 now, they were 7

I got them over the tax free weekend, with the pro discount the inserts are only 1.20 and the palettes 4.80, I just couldn't believe it!!! They now also have inserts for the pro longwear ES, since the cream colour bases have the same size, I was planning to depot them and put them in the palette. But guess what, the cream colour bases are also coming in a palette refill pan version, the guy at the mac store told me it should be coming out next month or so..... (-:

:yep: It's why I stocked up on so many lol. I don't LOVE them but at less than $5 each it's too good of a deal to pass up.

WOW!!! That is awesome. I've got to buy about a dozen to change mine over. I just bought all of them less than 2 yrs ago and barely use them because I can't see the e/s. I never got around to labeling them. But I like the idea of being able to see the colors without opening the palette.
