Mac Pro Palettes discussion

I got them over the tax free weekend, with the pro discount the inserts are only 1.20 and the palettes 4.80, I just couldn't believe it!!! They now also have inserts for the pro longwear ES, since the cream colour bases have the same size, I was planning to depot them and put them in the palette. But guess what, the cream colour bases are also coming in a palette refill pan version, the guy at the mac store told me it should be coming out next month or so..... (-:
Where exactly did you get them, I'm just curious...what a deal!

I plan on picking up a few palettes on payday with the 24-well inserts. It makes sense to depot all of my lipsticks since I always use a lip brush.

I initially went with the 12 well because I thought the 24 wells were too shallow to do a full depot. The 12 are deeper and I was worried they were too deep but I actually like how it came out. Here's the one I depotted all of my All About Orange lipsticks. Just have to decide what other orange or coral lippies I want to use to complete it.

Yeah they don't look too deep here but everyone has said they are so I was gonna get the 24? Lol

That looks really nice.  It looks like the 12-well ones aren't too big after all.

With the 12 I am able to do a full depot (digging out the lipstick down in the base). It's my understanding that you can't depot the entire tube into a single 24 well...that's why went with the 12. When it came it was deeper than I thought but once I started depotting I realized it was actually perfect.

I'm glad it's a perm decrease, but I still wish it was a decrease to get rid of the current stock and bring out more palettes to improve the magnets.
I am hoping that is the case. I am still wondering if the magnetic properties can be "strengthened" by passing another magnet over the palette? Any other science geeks out there? Beuler?

There is a magnetic field because of unpaired electrons that spin in the same direction and are placed in allignment. Generally electrons are paired and have an opposite spin and therefore any charge is cancelled out. In some materials unpaired electrons can spin in the same direction and when they are alligned it creates a north-south field. Magnets can weaken over time when the electrons lose their allignment. In this case you can make them stronger again by realligning the electrons with a stronger magnet, but you can't make a magnet stronger than it was when it was new, because that was the maximum field strength it could create.

I love you

I hope they stock the inserts soon because I am not using the palettes without them. I'd rather have eyeshadows stuck in those tricky inserts than have them just sliding around the palette.
