I never dared to mess with fire while depotting. Im just too clumsy lmao
I am super clumsy but I love the candle method. I guess I am just a pyro at heart. I do have a slight concern of setting off the fire alarms (since I live in an apartment and they are sensitive--I set one off once with a steamy shower) and a slight concern of inhaling fumes, but I have my technique down. No broken ones and only a couple get scraped when I try to take the plastic "well" out of the plastic container.

Wonder if the soaking in alcohol method works for regular size e/s pans? I wish they would just offer all of these in the Pro pans!

Yup. I use wire cutters and alcohol for everything, small/medium shadows, blushes, you name it!

Me too !! It's so easy and quick .i like to do a few at a time. While the alcohol is soaking with one item , I'm cutting the other item getting it ready for the alcohol . By the time I finish that the alcohol has soaked enough and the glue has softened and I'm able to pop the eyeshadow right out the case. I've never used the heat method

That's exactly what i do! Line em up all in a row. By the time I'm done with the last one, the first ones are all ready to go. Pop em out, the glue all wipes off, stick a labeled magnet on, and pop em in my palette! Now my candles are actually used for what they're meant for!

I use my flat iron and it has always been fool proof for me. Not 1 cracked or chipped shadow or blush but the glue it still a bitch to get off. I might try the wire cutter/alcohol method this week (getting ready for retro matte) and see how it goes.

I'm obsessive about using the labels off the actual product so I'd have to get the flat iron out for that anyways but I just might give the alcohol method a try! Does type of alcohol 70% vs 90%) matter in case it gets on the shadow inadvertently?

99%. If done correctly, none will get on the shadow. If it does, one is using far too much alcohol.

I do this too ... Except I line them all up on my heating pad after I pop out the insert to help the glue soften and make the label easier to get off without tearing it.

I got an e-mail from MAC about my backorder of the eyeshadow insert that I ordered and they are waiting for it to be recieved at the warehouse. For those that got a backorder notice of the eyeshadow inserts, do look out for the shipping notice as well as a restock.
Could you please let me know when your backordered eyeshadow inserts have shipped? I have literally

I ended up getting smh palettes instead of MAC and the magnets on them are really strong! I am wondering about the alcohol soak method though since I had a casualty at my last depot party. Can anyone direct me how or an online tutorial?
