I have duo-fiber set from Glitter & Ice. I use the 130 everyday for my BB cream, too, and I love the 287 for my EDSF's. I don't think the quality is terrible at all. And it's nice to have a little set of brushes if you're just going away for the weekend and don't wanna worry about your full-sized ones.
The one I've got from last year is the mixed use, standard fiber one - I already use 4 out of the 5 in that set all the time, so it was a great option for carrying around. The main thing that tipped me over the edge was how functional the case was, with the snapped compartment that perfectly fits blush, lipstick, powder and a little extra room in the pouch with the brushes for my indispensable 188SH and an eye pencil or gloss. I love the retro pastel plastic leopard thing too - it reminds me of toiletries in my grandmother's bedroom when I was little.

I thought the set had glitters & pigments in it. (from what i could see..)

I bought my eldest daughter two of last year's holiday brush sets, and both are holding up fine. Are they the same quality as my regular ones? Probably not, but they're fine for an 18 year-old still fairly new to makeup.

I have the Archie's brushes put aside for my almost 12 year-old for Christmas. They're adorable and certainly good enough quality for her to learn with. She's the household mini-beauty junkie. On her bedroom wall next to the One Direction Posters are homemade 'I love MacBarbie' and other beauty blogger ones. She's beside herself because I've told her that she's not allowed to wear anything other than lipgloss or light lustres until she's 13. She wears makeup to perform and is getting increasingly skilled at putting it on. I still help with her eye makeup (really just the fluid line), but she's got the rest down (better than her 18 year-old sister - too funny).

Anyway, I think the sets can be a good option. I have the full-size brushes, but it's been expensive to collect what I have. I know my daughters prefer getting a set to a single brush, and it isn't such a tragedy if a brush goes missing in a dorm room setting. Worth checking them out in person, at least.

That's so cute!! My 2 year old daughter loves makeup! She grabbed my RiRi Heaux lipstick the other day though, and I swear I nearly had a heart failure!!

Yes. Agents of the Shield looks great. I watch the same shows as you do, except (hides face in shame), Modern Family, Parenthood, Parks & Rec. I've heard great things about them. My favorite shows (which I have to wait until next year for some) are: Justified, American Horror Story, Hannibal, The Walking Dead, Pretty Little Liars, Twisted and Criminal Minds (do you see a theme with me?). I attempted The Killing (again), The Bridge and Under The Dome, but gave up on them. If the show has too many characters and too many stories going I can't keep up. I lose patience very fast. I'm looking forward to the new Dracula show in October on NBC. Looks interesting.
Pretty Little Liars, The Bridge, Under The Dome are others that I am currently and still loving. Modern Family is one of my favorite shows ever.

Oh yes cannot wait for that either!

Sleepy Hollow and Brooklyn Nine-Nine, both of those surprised me. Wasn't planning on watching either.

Still nothing on this collection, I want a color story. I keep stalking the image-bank but there's nothing new on there :(
