Tom Ford Beauty Discussion

@nylonkk

Apologies for the hostile tone in my previous post. As you could probably see, I'm completely new to spectra hence it would be more difficult for me to instantly pick up, as you call it, the unspoken tradition, that goes on in this forum. I was just uncomfortable with someone sharing a source website which I previously acknowledged as debatable authenticity, as I've experienced similar incidents where someone stole temptalia's blog, hosted it on their own chinese website, and was desperately marketing it everywhere for the sake of clicks and views. Sorry for the misunderstanding, I hope I got things clarified up!

Passing over the source website issue, I fully understand the disclosure policy that is common within the english beauty community. What I didn't understand was why you made it sound like weibo sources (that could potentially be sponsored or seller's reviews) are biased and unreliable. I do not intend to get into arguments in any form (afterall, I joined intending to share), so let's call it off from here. I will make sure to clarify photo and review sources clearly from now on. Thanks a lot!

I just found side by side swatches on karlasugar.com:

http://karlasugar.net/2010/04/tom-ford-lipstick/tom-ford-lipstick/

Obviously not close.Black Orchid seems to be more brown than Bruised Plum.
When I swatched both at the counter, they looked quite similar to me. Bruised Plum looked (on me, anyway) to be a cremesheen version of Black Orchid. I wanted both, but only got Black Orchid first because it's being discontinued. I'm going to get Bruised Plum later since it's permanent.

I am VERY tempted by Bruised Plum.It looks so pretty in all the pics and swatches I have seen so far.
But I am still debating on it due to the price tag

Where do you buy Tom Ford, MACina? Do we have a website now where we can order Tom Ford from in Germany? I still don't own any TF, since I don't know where to buy it.

Some of the most expensive items in my collection are Tom Ford. I can't believe I own a $49 lipstick (Bruised Plum and Black Orchid), but I love them.

I really want to try some of the TF blushes.  Good to know they work well with the Chanels.  I only have Presage so far though.
I just bought presage during the NM beauty event (the leopard tote + samples were so lame, one of the worst I can recall) it is my first orange blush - it looks so pretty with TF savage...if you are considering the C creams don't wait as 1/2 of them are listed as limited and the others seem to be scarce in stores but on c.com still...what color lippie do you guys think go well with presage and/or savage? OT but have y'all seen charlotte tilbury's line? I read that she actually helped Tom ford create his make up line - she launched her own line in UK sept 2 - not many reviews but the quads kinda look like TF wannabes - the pencils look amazing though, champagne diamond especially!! she also has this magic cream, wonder if it is really all that?!?

Thanks. I decided to buy some Chanel Fall items yesterday. I had to ask for the creme blushes because they weren't even on display anymore. I didn't get one though. Maybe next go round.

I ordered She Wolf today. I love how it looked on Karen's review, so I hope I'll love it!
I ADORE she wolf. It's beautiful. Stunning without looking like too much. The glitter in the glitter shade stays put, and is so pretty, and I usually hate glitter. It's my first tom ford eyeshadow, and now I want much more. I've never had eyeshadow that blends so easily

That's great to hear! I'm still not great at blending (I probably need a different brush or two) so I love easy-to-blend shadows. I'll try it out once I get it tomorrow. I just realized this week that I have an overabundance of lipsticks and a comparatively small amount of eyeshadows, so I'm trying to build that collection up.

I just got to play with She Wolf and it's truly stunning. The colors are soft and gorgeous, and I can see myself wearing this a lot this Fall and Winter. It is pricey, but I think it's worth it. I'll have to pick up some more Tom Ford shadows in the future
