What control?! Shoot I had to beg for a color story lol

I'm sensing there's this perception that certain members here withhold information from new members and or scold new members when they post certain information. If there's a post limit or certain requirements for this locked thread then some members might feel as though its not fair to them. Maybe control was the wrong word. I'm just tired of being associated with drama when I contribute to this site and in all actuality guests always pop up during these releases, usually for certain information, take it and run. It's like having that one "friend" who only acknowledges you when you have something they need. But yet, we're the bad guys. I just don't get it.

I'm new to this site and I came across it by researching the MAC Holiday Collection. I was looking around the site at different threads and I was so happy to see other people be passionate about makeup as I am and I wanted to join right away. However once I can across this thread I changed my mind. It seems like if your new here your not really welcomed. I understand certain people have been a member for a long time but I just don't think it right to be mean or gang up on someone who is new. If there are rules to this site maybe that should be mentioned after you create an account. To me I don't think anyone was trying to say something they were not suppose to I just think they were trying to be helpful. I myself am a shy person and I express myself thru makeup and I love everything makeup and I just don't feel welcome at all as a new member. My local Nordies has everything in stock except Nude and I got everything I wanted the day it was released at the freestanding stores. I wanted to help some of you by offering to help with the items your looking for but I just don't feel that way anymore. Its sad to see something that makes people feel so beautiful turn into something this negative. But I guess I will be the only one who feels that way sense I'm just a newbie.

I have not been here long, and I am neither a newbie nor an old-head and I have been nothing but welcomed here. The rules you mention about posting are not secret. You agree to them by creating an account. So you have to understand that people are irked when new members claim ignorance of these rules. New members have seen them more recently than we have. No one has been ganged up on, and people are very specific about what they object to when they do. If you don't agree, that's your right, but you (general you) still need to abide by the rules of the forum. I am not sure why people keep coming here, not having the experience they want and instantly blaming everyone else (or finally create an account to spew negativity about the experience no one knew you were having because you were lurking - how are responsible for that?). People are here to contribute, share, talk about shared interests, whatever - not to validate. Either you can step back and deal with that within the bounds of the rules or not. If not, that's your (general your) decision. This is one of the most friendly moderated forums I have been on. I don't get all the angst.

I'm crying but only because I've KILLED my play money for the month on goodies and I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to make Divine Knight, Nocturnals, and Riri Holiday work in my favor. I need a long sabbatical from MAC after 2013's collections... but I know I won't take one lol!

Me too! I'm afraid to see what I can score with sephora's F&F sale along with everything MAC is putting out.

Anyone hiring, I need about 5 jobs to pay for all of this.

During the next collection, I may just go into "ghost" mode. Give props here and there. Click helpful for posts and the like. But that's it. I don't think I can deal with it. It sucks because this is supposed to be a community where we all can come together and share our love of makeup and information about that makeup with each other.

Hi everybody! I'm new to this forum as of today (LOL) after reading a few posts the past week or so. I've enjoyed all of you and your passion for MAC! I love makeup in general so I wholeheartedly share your enthusiasm. Anywho, since I've been reading, I've notcied that a lot of people were unable to get certain items from the RiRi collection particularly TTT. Well in my OCDness and not wanting to deal with the rush yesterday, I called all over the US to find what I wanted and had it shipped to me. In that quest, I discovered that the MAC counter at Macys in Boise, ID has of today, 16 TTT lipsticks available. Call 208-373-6000 ext 6375 and ask for Megan. She can help you. I hope this helps and those who missed out can get it. I also have a chart of stores across the USA who still has considerable stock of other items. If you'd like that info let me know. I'm new to this so I'll get back to whomever when I can or when I figure it out! Good day to you all!

Thanks! I was just able to place my order. The makeup gods really do love me and all is right in the world!  That's what my setup will eventually look like. I'm taking vacation at the end of November. I'm gonna get one of those Alex units, the Malm vanity, and another Helmer for my nail polish. I already bought a mirror to hang over the vanity from Home Goods. Since I'm not going anywhere, I'll use the time to clean out my stash. Or just play in it...

I'm glad! I was about to give up but I figured I'd refresh one more time for the hell of it!

Yeesssss lol! I've neglected Sephora with my eyes so fixated on MAC this year... I'm afraid that when I do go I'll have a meltdown because of everything I'll want to buy but know full well I've surpassed my cosmetics purchasing limit (as if I ever keep to what I set for myself smh). Where is the "I need a side hustle because MAC is taking all of my money, therefore limiting what I can buy from other brands" thread LMAO

I need to invest in muji. My makeup collection is out of control. i had to buy this from Ikea.....the tall chest of drawers....

No don't buy MUJI! Honestly, I bought a couple from their website and within a couple days, my CC was stolen and used to purchase something in Japan. I would rather save up my money and buy the Icebox or the original cube. Maybe it was a coincidence but I just don't trust them at this point!

I joined in January and honestly, I never had an issue. I feel like some people just need to use a little more common sense... Like don't post rude comments, especially when it's post #3.... "Secret site" is not to be mean to new members but rather so Lurkers who aren't searching as hard as we are don't take all the stock. If you want to be part of the community, don't join the day before a release because as many have said it just looks suspect... To those that join and contribute, nobody will have an issue giving you "secret information". Back to the makeup ya'll...
