MAC Divine Night Collection (October 17, 2013)

since i preordered i think im picking up my goodies on sunday (I KNOW A WHOLE WEEK) i'm very busy this week so at least i'll be able to play around with everything sunday .

I did the same thing & preordered...like to give my local free-standing MAC some love

because they take really good care of me. They'll ship my goods out on
Thursday and I'll get them on Friday.

Ordered private party ls & gloss and lured for love (couldn't pass up a pretty coral blush). Everything else seems like a pass for me. I would love EE if it would work on me, but since the RiRi nude does absolutely nothing for me I passed.

I have too many mineralized es gathering dust right now. Plus I have a vast quantity of MSF's which I fear will never finish. So I passed on the MSF's and ES. Plus I am not a fan of the design in the pan. Trivial thing - I know - but it bugs me.

Seriously. Because what's the difference really? Discount today, discount tomorrow... you should just get the discount when the stuff launches, especially since you pay for shipping. I think they are like "screw it, lets sell as much as we can at regular price before we give the discount, a lot of them will cave and get stuff anyway". It's so damn shady.

I was wondering the same thing. But have a hard time deciding if I'm cool or warm toned. I've always thought I was an NC, but I'm not sure! lol

From the pictures you've posted, you seem a little more on the NW side - actually you have the sort of skin I had when I was younger - I was just totally white/neutral.

The rule of thumb I use is that the more yellow your skin, the more dirty cast to the color will come out and the more red, the more pink and clear color cast will come out BUT the darker your skin and lips are, the lighter the color will look (which also accentuates the cooler, bluer aspect) and the paler your skin, the darker (which is also the redder and browner). It's like a matrix, so you factor all four together. This is the color theory behind it. It sounds complicated, but it isn't really - just hard to describe with words. We'd have to do exercises where you mix colors in increments, like red + exactly half the amount of blue and go up and down in increments, then do the same with just white and black, then do 2 colors + white, 2 colors + black, color + the compliment of the color, etc. etc. I guarantee a day of that stuff and it gets burned into your brain!

I'm NC15 and it looked just like the promo pic on me, so sort of soft plum mahogany wine. I saw it on a much darker NC (I'm guessing she was NC40-45) and it looks mauve purple on her. Since you're NW, I'm going to say it will look more berry. I bet it will be beautiful - like a soft version of all these vampy lips we've been seeing.

Exactly!!! they're gassed up from the riri fall release and think it's ok to pull these kind of stunts now. I was going to cave and get the lippies, but I've changed my mind because that's what they want people to cave in. I mean why wait till 8am to put a discount MAC? If the lippies sell out then it's not meant to be right now.

It really surprised me. The glowy sheen it gives the skin is beautiful. It wasn't even on my list and now it's a must for me. It's going to be a nice highlighter!
