@Wolverina  your Avi is hysterical!!!!!!!!  :roflmao:
I just love Uncle Leo SO much! “Are you ashamed of your uncle? Do I embarrass you?… Haven’t I always been a good uncle?… Who told you when you went to school that you print well?… When he was younger, he had a beautiful penmanship. I used to encourage him to print… I remember your ‘V.’ It was like a perfect triangle. Whoa, there’s my bus!”

Nope. The black friday lippie is the black that's launching with PC, early for BF, then again for PC. It does. The awareness part goes towards the purchase of condoms and such in countries like Africa, where men and women who are and are't infected don't know that sex with a condoms are 1. an option, 2. not reusable and 3. a way to prevent the spread of the disease, and also to purchase testing kits. The rest goes towards living expenses that are affected as a result of the cost of the meds needed to treat them (cab fare to treatment, daycare costs while at treatment, etc).
One correction. Africa isn't a country. Hopefully it was a typo, but you'd be surprised at how many people talk about the continent like it is one big country. It irks my soul.

I know a lot of people are tired of Riri but she has sold out all her collections in record time and I'm really happy that MAC is taking advantage of this for a good cause with Viva Glam program.
Well said as did many other posts. When I start to feel that riri fatigue again I'll remember its for a good cause. While praying we never have to endure her again or a doggone waiting room!

The only reason I'm tired of RiRi is the limited quantities and waiting room drama! I'm not really tired of her products, just the process. But I'm sure MAC likes the chaos Rihanna creates. I'm pretty new to the make-up thing-- has buying LE MAC make-up always been this difficult??

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL! Uncle Leo is classic!! Unfortunately there are ladies walking around out here with eyebrows like that and that episode is exactly what I think of!

Back to topic: I am happy there isn't a need for waiting room drama from VG Riri since it's available all year, because I am sure we will all still be exhausted from Riri Holiday.

I've been wearing MAC since 1996. I don't ever remember it being this crazy. Most of the hottest colors debut as limited edition. I hate their marketing plan. I don't like being denied lipsticks because I'm the 15 person in line the day a collection rolls out. $&@%

i'm sad it's riri only because i'm a little tired of her exposure in mac terms and in pop culture terms,
but the aim of the game is to make money for charity and this shade could possibly turn out to be macs biggest seller, which i'm all for!
still mean to get nicki2, you can never ever feel bad about buying these shades even if they don't suit.
in retrospect, viva glam cyndi was my fave, probably because it was the most wearable for the day!
really looking forward to seeing what shade this will be :)

It was a typo. I meant countries IN Africa. I was typing it one-handed, left-handed (and i'm right-handed) as my right hand is in a brace. I can't focus :( I fixed it.

Oh I WISH I could have been old enough to enjoy 90's MAC! I didn't get into MAC, and makeup in general, until college (early 2000's). But I bet 90's MAC was awesome!

Poster child for irresponsible choices? That's a little harsh. Especially considering you're comparing her to RuPaul. He may be a bit more philanthropic but at the end of the day he's still a grown ass man in latex lingerie spread eagle in a global campaign that ANYONE can access including children. Does that make RuPaul irresponsible? Don't get me wrong. I love the gay community and ADORE RuPaul! (Hello, Drag Race!!!) But that campaign ad was hella over the top. I loved it but do you know how many customers were appalled when my store put out the display? Personally, I'm not offended by RuPaul and I don't have an issue with Rihanna's twitter wars or drug use. She smokes weed and speaks her mind to whoever has an opinion about her. So what? I'm sure we ALL have done much worse. We just aren't publicly scrutinized for it. Give her a break! I'm glad she's the spokesperson. Maybe we'll get more fun colors like GaGa and Nicki's campaign. I don't like any of the other Viva Glam lippies. I hope she'll spice things up!
I don't see RuPaul's ad as being over the top or even vulgar. A grown man in lingerie doesn't bother me and to be honest I feel like it's a break from women always being in their underwear in ads. I don't put that on the same level as drug use, even if the drug in question is marijuana. It's funny how we shield kids from sex or the suggestion of it, but the violence and drugs-meh, OK. I'd say there are celebrities out there who are more reckless than Rihanna, from what we can see and so I wouldn't consider her the poster child for irresponsible choices. However, a large majority of her audience consists of impressionable young folks who hold her up as their OK to get baked and to not have a filter on their already sassy mouths. Also, saying that others have done worse doesn't exactly make anyone else's behavior OK. No offense intended and we can get back to the makeup, but I couldn't keep quiet on this. I'm not a saint, but I've never used a single drug and I try to have some decorum at all times. If Rihanna is your style then go for it. She's a polarizing figure in pop culture and there's just no way around that.

SO greedy!... LOL! JK! :p

Honestly if they stock enough, and she chooses a good shade. This will be amazing for the aids foundation!!! They HAVE to make sure it's always available though for it's year. If they do it that way I think it's a great idea. If they do the waiting room bs and not making nearly enough of the lippy, then I will be pretty damn disappointed to be honest.

I gave up hope with the Fall collection, I'm not expecting to get the Pink lippy I want from the Holiday... They just are terrible with this limited edition products, there are never enough and it drives me insane!! In particular these Riri collections... just ridiculous.. You know how many people want these things, yet make tiny amounts... Crazy to me as I would think they would make more money if they made more.. I'd still buy a couple if they did. I'm lucky to get one of anything they release these days.. with working and having no counter anywhere near local, I tend to miss the launch times and it's not really fair. Would love to see a change in that...

Sorry for the rant, just irks me.. makes me sad!! Xxxxx

Yeah I've been wearing since '96 as well. People keep talking about how quickly her collections have sold out, but I wonder how much was even produced. It skews the numbers a little when everything is treated so exclusively and and we are talking about a very limited number of items, relatively speaking. That's it- I'm producing my own VG collection for 2014 with Uncle Leo as the spokesperson, even post mortem I think he would be a better VG advocate. Strangely, I think RiRi would approve.

I will never forget one year when I was living in Santa Cruz there was a girl who I *think* fancied herself an as yet undiscovered model- she had completely shaved her evebrows off and drawn them back on 2+ inches higher. I myself fancy a Barbara Steele brow, but this was some serious Wut Wut.

No offense taken! I'm not so critical of stuff like this because I'm young maybe (24)? I don't find much harm in Rihanna or RuPaul or their images lol. I just don't understand what makes her so inappropriate after RuPaul's ad. It may not have been over the top to you but I'm not ready to start seeing men in lingerie ads LOL. After that thought.......Yes. back to the makeup!! Lmao

LOL that is so weird for Santa Cruz!!! Everyone seems to have to ocean vibe..sandals jeans t shirt. I hardly see full beat faces there. Then again horrible eyebrows seem to be world wide lol. I hate the new (I think it's new?) over drawn look. Too long in center and too thick. At least thick brows are in again though I guess. I remember everyone had skinny eyebrows for the longest! As for role models and ALL that. If I had a daughter would I want her to idolize riri? Nah. But honestly I think it has A LOT to do with parenting. I see a lot of moms who don't care about things when their kid is small but when they turn into a teenager suddenly want to try and parent. Like no you have to start while they are young. Obviously children are impressionable but a lot can be blocked out, or discussed. I think the majority of my friends expose their children to things too soon. But that's just my two cents. We're all different and have different views. That's what makes the world great. (Though there are plenty exceptions lol)

Edit: I'm not even sure I got a point across as I should be asleep. And I am sleep deprived haha
