MAC Punk Couture Collection (December 26, 2013)

@macgirl006 : ok. It is as drying as you can imagine a matte to be: noticed no difference in texture from the retro mattes. So if you're used to it and know how to prepare: exfoliate, moisturizer, prime ur lips etc then you should be fine. I noticed on the second day of wear that the staying power is not as good as I'm used to with MACs mattes. I can eat and drink and kiss away (lol) and my lips are mostly put. TB rubbed off more than what I'm used to. Could be I needed to blot or maybe I used a lot of it who knows. The color is amazing but I felt I needed to line it with something darker because my lips tend to be very pink on their own (you'll see the pics) but that could be just me. I liked it over all, I'm just married to mac and can't avoid comparing...

I'm also married to MAC and sometimes discriminate when it comes to makeup but this lippie is worth cheating on MAC with! The only thing I wasn 't happy to hear was the staying power. As far as dryness, I can make it work as I've met TTT. Thanks for including a pic as well

Yeah I need Instigator in my life. I hope its not similar to Heroine or Strong Woman..it looks so pretty in the pics...

Heroine is a bit lighter and less red-based, isn't it? IMO, not anywhere close to Instigator.

Could you ladies explain why you prefer either the retro matte or matte formula for Hautecore (if you have a preference)? I feel like they should both have good wear time, but other other than that I don't know!

Sorry I've been meaning to do a lip swatch of this lipstick since I had it, but of course this is Punk Couture! Lined with grape lip liner. It's very Barney purple but I really like it. Reminds me of one of those colored raine Lipsticks but I forgot the name of it. Anyways hopefully I will get another one before they release.

Thanks for the swatch! It looks pretty cool and out of the ordinary (at least for me it is since I have yet to see someone wear purple lipstick where I live.) Definitely getting Punk Couture, Instigator, and Studded Kiss.

Originally, I wanted all four of these. Now, I'm hoping bloggers get samples. I really want to see how Instigator compares to Strong Woman and heroine. Also, how Studded Kiss compares to other reds that I may already have in my stash (MAC Red especially). Even Hautecore, I wonder how it compares to Midnight Media.  I'm getting Punk Couture no matter what. I don't think I have anything that comes close.

yeah i just saw that and ordered mine, so hopefully it comes sooner than that, if not at least not a cancellation notice

I guess since it's already been announced that it's up for pre-order on Nordies it's safe to go ahead and say that apparently it won't only be available on Black Friday because it's also listed on Nordies as one of the available lippies. This is assuming that the Nordies "pre-order" holds up and they don't cancel orders. I believe Ernie mentioned this before a little while back too that it would be released both times because there was debate over if it would be retro matte during one release versus matte (might be remembering this wrong...it's been a little while).
