MAC Magnetic Nude Collection (December 26, 2013)

I don't think I could love ANY light pink lippie as much as I love our VENUS! But I'll grab MR simply because I liked, but skipped, GoR and have regretted it ever since.

I liked and skipped Gem of Roses too, it was literally the only thing I liked from Semi Precious and I just had a "meh" moment and didn't end up buying it I have no idea why!

Ok so my mua called me to come check this out. I wish she would've told me she only had the lippys and a lipglass (oh my darling) plus the fluid lines and eyeshadows which I wasn't interested in. She also had at dusk (blush) which I didn't even bother with because it looked too pale for me and oddly similar to shell pearl. Anyway. Here are the lippys Left to right: close contact. Sensual spark. And magnetic rose

The swatches are comparisons. So from left to right, too to bottom: 1 row Sensual sparks Magnetic rose 2nd row Blankety Viva glam II Creme de nude Honeylove Close contact. Last pic is me w all the glorious ness of no makeup and after workout face. (Please ignore) wearing close contact with some OMD lipglass. My analysis: although I'm pissed that the blush and skin finishes aren't there. At least I know I won't be gettin the lippys. Don't get me wrong: they're beautiful nudes. But similar to stuff I have. Close contact is an amplified version of honeylove IMO. Very good quality tho, amazing coverage and it feels amazing on lips. So if you don't have honeylove, go for it... If you have HL, but you want a slighty brighter version by all means. Sensual sparks is too brown for my skin tone but I can see darker skin tones rocking this. Morning rose was pretty too but I didn't try it on. Sorry for the short number of pics, I would've loved to take more of the fluid lines and the eyeshadows but my phone died!

Close contact looks pretty!! I love it!

There wasn't a huge hype over it as I remember last year when Heavenly Creatures came out. Seems the eyeshadows, MSFs and swirly blushes took most of the limelight. I wasn't planning on picking it up but it just so happened saw there was a restock on mac a month later and that's when I got it.

Oh yeah Venus is def the best light pink ever and I love my light pinks! I have GOR too and it is a very pretty lippy as well. So if its similar I'd def go for it!

Love Venus! I have very pigmented lips but this color still gives a lovely pink! Guess I'll have to get Morning Rose.

Anyone think morning rose will show up brown on me? I think I am an NC20 but my lips are very pigmented. Two urban decay lippies(rapture and fiend) i got that looked like pretty pink neutrals on temptalia and karen ended up straight brown on me

It is hard to say. You can also use a pinker liner with them too.

You can always conceal your lips before applying color. Concealer cancels out all color in your lips and can make the color last longer. When I want the true color of a lipstick to show without having to use liners to cancel out my natural lip color I use concealer and it's perfect

I actually have MAC's lip erase.. but its a love hate relationship with that product. And my lips get super dry even after i have scrubbed them, used a chapstick, then a lip primer, then lip erase. So sometimes that works and sometimes the lip erase makes it look worse and i have to take all the product off and deal with a chapstick for the day
