Does anyone know where I can find SK in San Francisco?
what??? no pictures
They didn't look the same on me either (used a friends Diva because surprisingly I don't have it in my collection). So it may not look the same on everyone that is assuming that it will automatically look exactly like Diva on them. Just something to consider. Not trying to enable...just being honest. If you come across it and can try it for yourself then you definitely should just to see if it really does look the same. Worst case scenario is that it does.I found Diva to be a bit more raspberry than SK. I'm in love with SK! I'd definitely own both.
Diva and SK look the same swatched on my wrist but different on my lips...I like SK moreThey didn't look the same on me either (used a friends Diva because surprisingly I don't have it in my collection). Hi Liba. I agree that part of the sloppy application for me is due largely in part to the fact that I have next to no experience with applying dark or matte lipsticks (of which these happen to be both). I'm so used to sheerer, glossier formulas that are hella forgiving when it comes to application, lol. x] I need to become more familiar with the shape of my mouth especially because I more often than not find that I tend to fill the right side of my bottom lip more than the left, since the natural pigmentation of my lips seems to extend further down on that side. Anyway, I did read the tips you gave for application and I will definitely give them a try. Thanks'Pretty sure practice makes perfect with these lipsticks. I've been using them all without liner and get a perfect, crisp edge and no patchiness. I've used them with P&P lip underneath and with nothing underneath, too. I posted a few tips about how I changed up my application a bit above. Another I didn't write up above is that I use a small flat edged sable watercolor brush for lipstick. This sort of brush gives you the sharpest edge possible - sable hair is the finest quality for keeping an edge and being resilient. I'll apply from the tube then use the brush dry to go over the edges to perfect. It doesn't pull off product dry like that because the edge is so fine. If it thins out the lipstick a bit, I'll just spot pat a little extra on from the tube. I haven't always done this with my PC lippies, but I did with Punk Couture.
it looks really good.Kind of bad quality but here it is! It was early before I left out, lol. It's easy for me to lose track of time when I'm "playing".
why aren't you smiling? you look really good and I am so used to seeing you smiling when you post your pictures.
Wearing MAC PC Eyeshadow Quad and MAC Pigment in TrueChartreuse on my eyelids (my first time wearing pigment ever!)
MAC Hautecore w/ Illamasqua lipgloss in Repulse
Nars Albatross on temples, bridge of nose, cupid's bow and chin
This makeup look is very different from my "plain Jane, neutral" look lol.
what about after you apply and and u have a patch right in the middle i just cant seem to get the color to spread....what should i do?well maybe Punk Couture is bringing out your inner punk rocker?I'll like what you've got going on your eyes and cheeks - what are you using? Was this your NYE look? you still
Love your hair! So cute. PC is a hell of a color!
I haven't been finding any of the lipsticks patchy, but I have had to change up my application style a bit with them. I normally pat on a thin layer, rather than gliding the tube in a big sweep, but with these, one big glide first and then patting here and there to fill in, if necessary, seems to do the trick. Also I apply very deeply under my top lip and into my lower lip, but only after it's nice and smooth on the more front facing parts, since I find that if there's any saliva or just moistness on the lip, that's when the patchiness can happen. Plus so far, I haven't used liner with any of them - they all keep a nice sharp edge even without liner on me - but if I did, I'd put the lipstick on first, then finish the edges with the pencil afterwards. 'Could be the lip pencils are just waxy enough to act like a resist against the texture of the lipstick?
On New Years I wore Hautecore with No Apologies on top but only brought HC with me for touchups. Putting a little extra HC on top of NA really gave a great look, reducing the gloss but keeping the subtle color enhancement. I was rushing so I wanted something i already knew would be foolproof, but I REALLY want to try Smash Hit on top!
Thank you! I was trying to go for the edgy look b/c of the makeup lol.

Agreed. It's such a gorgeous color I wouldn't mind having two slightly different variations. They didn't look the same on me either (used a friends Diva because surprisingly I don't have it in my collection). I was starting to panic bc I already have Diva and didn't wanna return SK to be trashed but I rethought it and Diva is one of my favorite reds so even if they are the same on me, I'd really just have an LE backup. After reading this, I definitely will have to try both on to checkThey didn't look the same on me either (used a friends Diva because surprisingly I don't have it in my collection). These lipsticks don't like that moist spot on the inner lower lip at first. You have to make sure it's really dry before you apply. If I put it on and it leaves a patch, I pat a little more on, patchy or not; do the upper lip, then go back to the lower lip, and do another layer deep into the inside . The first layer will have set up and the second layer will be on a dry enough spot to not get patchy now. Plus do the inside of the upper lip pretty well too!what about after you apply and and u have a patch right in the middle i just cant seem to get the color to spread....what should i do?
wow i have to try that!!! i like these colors so i think its worth the work and it seem like the more i play with it the easier it seem for me to apply each time but i will say that i dont get good wear time it gets dark in certain spots and creeps into my lip line a little but im thinking of just getting a primer. which color u like best? im having buyers remorse for not picking up studded kiss. i thought i didnt need another red since i love riri woo and its perfect but sk keeps calling meHello there, No Liner Friend!I just don't think these lippies need them, because they make a nice edge on the lips on their own. It's a soft modern look to be a little undone. The last time I went into my store, I was wearing Exclusive Event without liner and the store manager asked me what I was wearing. When I told him, he was surprised because he'd only seen people wearing it with liner and thought it looked wrong. Without the liner, he loved it.
Knowing you lip shape is so important. I always kept doing the right side of my upper lip much thinner than the left side and after all these years, I only just realized this year that the left side seemed more rounded because I hold the lipstick tube at a different angle on that side, since I'm a righty. So I finally started doing the right side with a more rounded stroke and now it's always even and full on the first try. Makeup can be so tricky!
You can just kick that Plain Jane to the curb! It looks great.

I have to agree with you I think these look fab without no liner. As for EE I was kind of stressing cause I don't have a liner for this color just got my hands on this pretty lippy I'm going to have to try it with no liner as well. i'm hoping it will look good if not I think I will try it with stone
