you are so sweet!.. but seriously I bought a shampoo in an old pharmacy in the viejita section, and it looks really purple -- not blue/violet, purple. The lady told me it would turn my light hair to light purple, which is kinda the idea. But, I don't want Bert to shave his eyebrows.. lol

Have you tried Wella toners? I was going to use some really viejita colour.. and Bert said he would shave his eyebrows if I did..

Try 12/96 by Wella I use it.....turns your hair lavender then use shimmerlights on top for the light lavender look

Now if Mac came out w hair stuff ... And I could dye my hair Kelly's color......... I tried manic panic and it did not quite cut it
Check out Pravana Chorma Silk Pastels and Vivids. It's a Demi permanent, like all of the more wild colors, but I hear great things about the staying power. I have been thinking bout trying the Magenta. :)

demi, so it will wash out? won't be as damaging?

How old is too old to wear these bright colors? I like them all except for koolaid red. LOL

I have greys, and a lovely grey patch (think ol girl from what not to wear) I'd love to just highlight those with a different color.

I just tried Pravana Wild Orchid in January (see avatar). I love the color, although it turned much pinker on me. The color is still here two months later, but now it is soft rose in some places and bright fuschia in others. It was also very gentle on my hair.

I'm going to be 33 in July. I think that's still young enough for crazy colors ;)

Yes, Demi, meaning it will slowly fade out. You are never too old!!! :)

If you re-color again, you can mix colors. So if Wild Orchid came out too pink you can mix something with more lavender or purple to get the desired color. It doesn't have to be just one color straight from the tube, feel free to customize.

Manic Panic turned everything I touched pink. EVERYTHING. Never doing that again.

Manic Panic is unstable, and SUCH a mess. Ugh. I color my hair pink and my room mates hair blue back in the day when I was in Beauty school. The shower was a disaster! Also, once that blue fades it starts to make sections look green and moldy. bleh.

Manic Panic Really is such a mess! When I first ever started dying my hair colors I used a fuchsia color. It bled pink everywhere forever!
I used to use a brand called Special Effects idk if it's even around now, but it was way good! the colors always came out true.

I wish I could do color in my hair again. sometimes it sucks being a grown up.

I've only used the white on blonde hair, and it worked fine. left hair in good condition .. did not make me platinum by any means, but it takes some yellow away from blonde. Have never had pink hair

Which pink are you talking about? I use cotton candy pink regularly and I find it to be the safest, not staining pink ever!

I'm interested to see swatches of everything. I quite like Sharon, I find her amusing -- I don't know anything about Kelly, but I'm happy to see if there's anything I like.

I agree about Manic Panic being messy and the staining was pretty bad sometimes. In my experience, the blue, turquoise, and the red dyes were the best performing ones on me. The turquoise dye would fade to a mint green that everyone and their mother liked when I started college. The magenta, and purple dyes were the worst performing ones, especially the purple dye. It faded completely in a week.

I just tried to dye over my Pravana. I might have a job interview (trying to move to a better position) and needed to have "normal hair". That color is hard to cover! I had to go black, which is still awesome because if my hair isn't a great crazy color I want it black.
