Okay all...today, a makeup miracle occurred.
My mom is super awesome and got me a $50 gift card to Sephora just because she has some credit card that she gets points with and can order gift cards with her points. Yay for $50 of guilt-free spending during a sale! So I started perusing Sephora's site, seeing what else I wanted since there are a lot of things I'm interested in, but nothing lately that I'm like "omgihavetohaveit" you know? And since the one kind of makeup I will never ever be able to put myself on a no-buy on is lipstick, I went to check out what Bite Beauty had left in stock since I love them. That's when the miraculous moment happened...
CASSIS IS BACK IN PRODUCTION.
That may not mean much to anyone here, but Cassis is my all-time favorite deep berry/wine color lipstick. It is the lipstick that made me discover Bite Beauty in the first place. I saw a picture in a magazine with the most amazing lip color. I did so much research to find out what lipstick it was that Keira Knightley was wearing in that picture, and when I finally found out what they said it was and tracked it down, the color looked nothing like the one in the picture. Not even remotely close. It was straight up brown and icky for me. But I would not give up!!! I decided to wander Sephora and see if I had any luck there. I swatched and wiped down my hand and re-swatched, repeating the process until the back of each hand was raw and dry. And then I came upon this little display of Bite Beauty lipsticks. A color caught my eye and that color was Cassis. One swatch and I knew it was perfection.
As I started to get more into Bite's products over the past year or two, I eventually came to notice that Cassis was no longer listed as one of their lipsticks. So when I went to the Bite Beauty lip lab in NYC last fall, I asked about it. The person working there told me that Cassis had, in fact, been discontinued. I was so upset! I thought about making a duplicate of Cassis as long as I was in the lip lab already, but decided I would just use it sparingly and make something original that day. But I still left feeling distraught.
And now...it's BACK, baby!!!! So you know I ordered a backup of it with that gift card! I don't think my heart has ever raced like this over makeup before. I guess that's kind of sad, but I'm too happy that Cassis is in production again to care, lol.
Oh, and I also got two new Illamasqua nail varnishes: Purity and Lament.

it's not intended for that use but I think it's safe. I do the same with MAC's blacktrack without my eyes popping out... [@]HerGreyness[/@] it's so hard to trust someone with hair and makeup! I would've shook her some! Sheesh! I'm sure it's not too bad! You would look gorgeous in any hair color love.
