My sister is 24 and calls our dad, daddy in front of everyone lol. She gets all kinds of looks.
My cousins all call their parents by name.

I know *exactly* how you feel. My Mom had been waiting for a surgery and one surgeon said "I'm not doing it, she won't make it off the operating table alive." we went with another surgeon, and she did in fact, but only just. They had to resuss her and it was a nightmare. If you need anything - even an ear to rant to in PM, please feel free to do so. I've been there, and it's the worst thing imaginable. My Mother is my best friend and I could not imagine life without her. I'm totally with you on making her every single dream come true.
My best wishes that she gets healthy and is okay. Hugs and love to you and your family, sweetie.
