Your favorite NARS eyeshadow

I agree on Onidine, actually, I love all of the shades that came in the Bridal palette - Edie, Napal, Night Fever. I cannot say the same for the Calanque trio that I just bought... for $45 it is too easily duped.

My favorite Nars eyeshadows are mostly duos. I love Earth Angel, Cleo, Habanera, and Brousse duo eyeshadows. They're the ones I use most often.
I think they're totally worth it, but you'll need ot swatch them (or look for swatches online) to avoid any surprise. I particularly like the combinations of colors which can be unconventional.

My favs are bateau ivre, caravaggio, jolie poupee, sugarland apricot shade, bengali, new york, and I like using multiples on my eyes for a quick natural look. but honestly I have so many and love to use them all.

for all you asking some of the best neutrals: all about eve duo, alhambra duo, kalahari duo, blondie, bali, coconut grove

Nars did release a neutral eyeshadow palette a little while ago, the 9944 (Best Palette). It had the Kalahari duo, the All About Eve duo, the left side of the Bellissima duo, and Bali. It's been sold out. Maybe you can have some luck and find it on eBay but then you wouldn't know for sure if it' a genuine Nars item.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I will post about the look description on my blog in a day or so, but I couldn't wait to share my new found love with you all. So, briefly, many months ago I bought a few eyeshadows online but with all the expiry date nonsense I have kept these shadows mostly unopened/unswatched. Today I needed an orange shadow so I opened Bora Bora (available online soon to be gone/vintage). OMGawd is this orange ever amazing - beautiful beautiful.

I love the singlets. My favorite shimmers is Nepal, ashes to ashes, galagos, cosmic girl and fantom. Mattes would be blondie, Bali and d. Gorgeous. Nars duos are kind of tricky. They all look nice, but the texture and pay off is eh with some. I own 8 of them, I use key largo a lot. Gland palaris is nice also. Duos that were an absolute disappointment were bellesma, wind star, charade, not sure yet with kalahari..

- Marie- Galante - Grand Palais - Jolie Poupée - Vent Glacé - Bouthan - Underworld - Wishful Thinking ( gorgeous ) Guy Bourdin collec. Mono - Tropic - Ramatuelle ( trio discontinued ) - Douce France ( trio ) - High Society ( trio deserves its name ) - Cap Ferrat ( trio ) Those trio eyeshadows were beautiful, but clearly all discontinued. :( I also love the 2 spring 2014 ones which I purchased recently.

What is your favorite NARS eyeshadow or eyeshadow duo? When I first got into NARS it was all about the blushes? How good are the eyeshadows? Are they really worth the price tag? thanks ladies!
Definitely worth the price, some mono are difficult to apply I am thinking of Outremer which is gorgeous but not easy to play with. Marie - Galante is quite chalky even if gorgeous in the pan ( one of my fav despite the texture ). Most es are perfect, both in terms of colour and texture though. Worth buying !

It looks beautiful, but it's unfortunately one of nars' downgrade products. The color and texture payoff is no where near as rich as they look in the pallete. kuala lanpur is the same also : ( Try some of the singles though. D. Gorgeous is a really lovely true lilac violet and matte. There's also lido which it more deep of a violet with shimmer and lulu a matte mauvey plum.

I can't handle their packaging! I had to throw out one of my duos because the lid snapped and broke! Yes, it's a few years old but not good enough! However, my faves are all about eve (so classic and wearable for a fair girl like me) and brousse

Went crazy with getting Nars blushes that suit me but satisfied with only 3 es Night Porter, Malacca and Cambodia. Hopefully it stays that way!

I really want to try alhambra and all about eve! Sephora is always out on them and i never have swatted them. I wonder how they appear on fair skin?

Wow... It's hard to pick favourites!

Ashes to Ashes was my very first and I have to admit that it remains one of my favourites of all time. Night Porter is my very favourite deep green ever.

I do tend to gravitate towards the shadow duos. Of those, I adore Dogon for a simple, but highly original smoky eye. Vent Glacé is probably my most used, since it's the perfect accompaniment to a strong lip.

Nars eyeshadow updates that I've purchased this month.

There is so much hype with Nars products and very two sides reviews and ratings. But I'm still looking for the best I can find. I recently discovered a lot of the eyeshadows look +2x better with a wet brush application! Give it a try if you haven't! I personally never do much wet applications but am loving the results!

In the last month I got:

Nars singles - Heart of Glass, Ondine, Grenadines and Bengali

Heart of Glass - A frosted white with blue hue. Very unique shade because of the tint of blue to a super white base. Couldn't find anything else like it besides a simularity with Nars eye duo Iceland. Conclusion - OVERRATED, unless you like a disco appeal.

Ondine - A shimmery plum-brown. A bit darker than Ashes to Ashes (Love/Hate it). More plummy than bland Lhasa. For a shimmer, i found it has a great texture and color consistency. Love it on my green eyes. Added to my top Nars products!

Grenadines - A matte garnet. I have never used red eyeshadows ever. Pinks, yes. I got this because I really wanted to experiment with a matte red mixed with other shades blended into my crease. I am a guy with hooded eyes and prefer to create naturalized looks to bring out the best qualities I have. I do have a shimmery garnet in my Lorac Pro palette that is near similar. For those of you who have Nars Exhibit A or Glinda, Grenadines is pretty much the same thing. Matte brick red-orange. There is yet a conclusion this product.. But I hope you sense my tone. why buy a .05 g matte brick red orange for $26, when for 4 g and $30 you can have more than double the content and also a fabulous blush also.

Bengali - I'm a fiend for natural-neutral (NN) matte shades. literally. I hate that I wasted $26 on this very non unique shade that can easily be duped and there are like 4 mac shades very similar for $10. Or to quench other NN matte fiends thirst for a quality palette. Sonia K. has a $15 matte NN palette at Target and has is AWESOME and a AMAZING dupe. All the shades are very common. A great addition to the vanity. Bengali = OVERRATED.

Nars Duo Eyeshadows - Alhambra, Iceland, Taiga, Windstar

Alhambra - Two shimmery rose golden hues. For years all I heard was "love this" by a large diverse amount of people. Esp Redheads and or very fair skinned ppl (which I am). Simply OVERRATED for $35. Too similar to the Nars Duo's All About Eve and Silk Road.

Iceland - Two frosted and slightly metallic light/white bases, one with a bluish-violet hue and the other the fairest tidbit of a green hue. Very unique shades I couldn't find dupes for. The one shade is very similar to heart of glass, mentioned above. I like em because of the genuine and unique results. Iceland = meh.

Windstar - Two shimmery shade of pink and a golden taupe with the slightest amount of glitter. Texture and color payoff was minimum with with the use of three different eye primers. OVERRATED

Taiga - Two shades consisting of a matte beige with the yellow hue and a shimmery+glittery golden taupe/light brown. Not bad. Not AMAZING. But fair. Another Meh.

Individual Consumers Conclusion - in the $2000+ I've spent on Nars product. I'm only the 25% happy with the content I've purchased. Most of them being the Nars' Individual Blushes. Their mixed palettes suck most of the time. I loved the Dannari 2012 holiday palette and the fall/winter 2013 condensed blush quads only sold limited on the nars website. the other palettes with two blushes and 4 eyeshadows suck because first they have of course Orgasm/Deep throat blush and laguna bronzer (shades most constantly used in EVERY PALETTE the make), second the four mini eyeshadows they combined with the palettes are A.- odd+impractical, B.-overrated, such as a bold matte sky blue and the bold basic matte violet or a basic brown with non similar crappy texture payoff to the original product shade from the original product. The 2014 Narssicist Eyeshadow palette really suffered that same flaw. Most of the Nars eyeshadows can be duped to Mac saving over 60%++ from the Nars prices.

I really hope this help's other consumers and makeup enthusiasts.

Next, I'll be reviewing why most every Chanel Cosmetic sucks and can easily be duped.

Nars are just so flip flop with their quality.
I bought the shadow duo called Isolde, and I LOVE IT, but then I bought sugarland, and I am so disappointed with it :(
Some of their blushes are so great, and some are so poor in quality, I do love their liners though, those are definitely my favorite.

True that about the blushes. Everyone also raved about Luster for years next to Orgasm. When I got Luster it barely even shown up on my N10 skin! Like BARELY noticeable! I personally haven't tried any of the liners, but will soon!

That's how I feel about Laguna, everyone raves about it, but it barely shows up on me. I'm around NC25-30 tops, so I was really disappointed since so many people love it :(

Amour blush, Albatross Highlight, and Isolde, plus the liners are my favorites.
The foundations I found... not so bad but I prefer MUFE for that.
Primers were a no go for me too :/
