When the boyfriend notices and comments, that is the true test of a good product! I know I'll get the meteorites...just may wait a tad longer before deciding which one. I'm sure regardless of which one I pick it will have a great effect.

I've never heard anyone say anything bad about a TF blush, so whenever you decide to dip your foot in the TF line, I think it's a great entry point :)

I'm going to keep my eye out for Enchanting Shock but if it doesn't turn up in the US I probably will try one of the others. Ardent Shock was the other one that really appealed to me. I agree the gold highlighter was a pass. And I got a few of the diorific vernis last year so I'm not jumping on them this year because they don't look different enough to tempt me, but if you don't have any you definitely need at least one just for the bottle. She's a beaute!
I also feel like I'm in the minority, but I really love the scent of the meteorites! Call me crazy, but I love opening the tin and smelling the strong violet fragrance. Though I am glad I don't smell it throughout the day on my face, haha-- it's not that overwhelming.

I don't have a bottle at all! So I guess I shall be splurging on whichever looks the best in person. I have enough red polishes to sink a ship though, so I might go for the pearly white or gold. :) It will definitely look great on my vanity!

Well, I'm not gonna lie I have the Guerlain Terracotta light sheer bronzing powder and I think it smells like old lady. #nooffensetooldladies EDIT: #imnospringchickenmyself

So if the meteorites smell like that, I won't like it. But I'm willing to put up with some fragrance if the product is amazing.

And actually I've seen a lot of reviewers sticking their nose in the meteorites tin and inhaling with bliss, so you're not the only one who likes the scent!

Variety of balls is the spice of life, that's what I always say
rasta.gif

So, are the balls in #4 darker than the holiday balls, from what you've seen? This will be my first set of loose balls. I want some that I can use all over, every day.
girlhaha.gif
Based on the photos that I've seen of the holiday balls, Dore #4 are much darker---more brown, no
copper/gold like the holiday balls. Mine should arrive soon---I'll be better able to make a comparison.

Ah, thank you! I've read such mixed opinions about Dore #4. One reviewer said she was fair and could wear Dore with no problem, while others said it was so dark they used it as blush. I'm sure a lot of it has to do with the brush used and how heavy an application you do. Think I'll wait on a few more swatches before I decide.

It's good to know I'm not the only one. And, I do not have Terracotta, so I can not accurately attest if they're the same scent... but meteorites are like... powdery smelling violets. If that makes any sense. I could see where one could say it's old lady smelling. My first thought when opening the tin was "This smells like something my grandmother used to wear" Hehe!
girlhaha.gif
But if you like the product enough, the smell almost immediately dissipates once applied to the face. At least in my experience!

That's actually really funny to me. I think Guerlain products could be used to identify people with subconscious (or not) "maternal issues". You smell it and think, "Aww it smells like my nan!" and I smell it and think, "Oh No it smells like my mother!" LOL. I'm older than you and my mom is in her 70s and still uses heavily perfumed beauty products. It's no coincidence I have a negative reaction to certain fragrance.

But you're right - the smell of the terracotta bronzer does dissipate after some time, so I'm sure I'll "get over" the Meteorites smell too ;-)

I've heard great things about TF blushes, so I think I might hold out for one of those if the Dior collection doesn't impress in person. Thanks for the tips though! :) I also have Clair 02 right now, and absolutely love it. I use it every day as a finishing powder, and, my boyfriend who can't tell the difference between pink & red lipstick actually mentioned my skin looked nicer the first time I wore it! For night, sometimes, I'll pull out one of the more shimmery balls and actually apply it to my face to add very pretty specific highlights. (like my cupid's bow and brow bone)

Yep! I'm interested in that one too, and hope it's released in the US. Temptalia's post about it says TBA distribution. It looks really pretty though, so if it's online only I might just have to give it a shot, sight unseen. I'm also interested in Daring, Ardent, and Passion shock. Sadly the gold highlighter looks waaaaaaaaaay too yellow for me, so that's a pass. (Although somewhat luckily. Perhaps I'll use that money on TF or the Guerlain palette!) and I really want a nail polish... almost just for the sake of the packaging. It's super pretty! My school colors are garnet and gold, so at least they would get a lot of use hehe. ;)
TF blushes are insane! The new fall blush duos are still available.

That's too funny! I'm a psychology graduate student and now am wondering about research on smells and memories. (Kidding, kind of! hehe) Would be a great excuse to buy really nice high-end fragrant things. All jokes aside, though! I hope you do share which one you end up getting and how you like it! If my package truly does come tomorrow, I'll try my best to swatch and photograph the magic that is guerlain meteorites.

I agree that the violet smell says 'old lady' to me. I absolutely LOATHE the scent, but thankfully it dissipates after a time. I have three Guerlain products with that fragrance and I've noticed that they've already gotten far milder over time; I hope the perles will be the same.

The LE bronzer scent is somewhat better, but I'd prefer if their products weren't scented at all. They're divine, so I put up with it.

OF COURSE. I have my MA in Clinical Psych. Leave it to us to end up in a discourse about cosmetic fragrance and memory at 1am

Ok good at least I'm not the only one with that reaction! I don't really understand why cosmetic companies are continuing to use such strong fragrances anymore. For every person that likes it, I'd guess there's at least 1 who will refuse to buy/use the product because they think the scent or taste is revolting. A subtle, non-offensive scent of vanilla or something is one thing, but these "signature scents" are a bit much sometimes.

Too true @katred.

Alright ladies. Sweet dreams. I feel a nightmare involving my mother and violet balls is unavoidable at this point.

There are so many amazing limited edition luxury items coming out. I only own a couple high end items, so all of this is a bit overwhelming especially on the wallet. The guerlain palette, dior pink shock highlighter, and chanel highlighter are all calling my name. Hoping my local bay will have get these in stock. Plus, I'm going to van next month so that means being able to access tom ford, and there's no way I'll be able to resist.
