Thanks for the input! I would think that ordering online is the safer way to go too. Then I talked to a friend and she said she's received things 3 different times from Sephora online that were clearly used...so ew. Now I'm again thinking of just exchanging it, even though it's probably perfectly fine. Your comment about it "paying on your mind a lot" is my issue exactly.
I decided that it kind of looks like there's an extra layer of skin...an uncircumcised lipstick, if you will. If I end up going to the store tomorrow, I have half a mind to say to whatever poor soul ends up helping me, "Excuse me, but my lipstick appears to still have its foreskin." I can only imagine the reaction I would get...
That is gross, surely the Sephora items ordered online were plucked from a store and sent?! Three separate times though
Did you end up going to the store? LOL at your description
Considering how expensive these lipsticks are, you should have a perfect one! Even a cheaper item should be in tact, but the fact that these are not cheap makes it worse IMO.
Even if you get someone telling you it came from the manufacturer, just tell them you expect it to be perfect considering the price you paid and not have a missing chunk.
I will say, Chanel lipsticks are the best quality I have had, however once I bought one and thank goodness the sales woman checked as it was totally broken at the base and sitting up in the lid.
I have had quite a few lipsticks which lean forward too close to the inner tube casing and get all cut up when used over time, and that annoys me- especially when they break off.
Anyways, you should be 100% happy with your purchase- you're the one who will be using it for quite some time until you finish it, so don't worry about telling them how you feel!
