I've seen some patchiness too so I'm a little worried, especially since I'm an absolute sucker for purples and I really want Liam to be fabulous! I think dark purples are notoriously difficult formulas. Haven't tried any Guerlains but I have an Armani that's also patchy but it's still possible to blend it in to get a good application. I'm hoping that's the case with Liam. Will find out tomorrow!
Blackened cherry, dark purple are very tricky to make it work but indie brands have managed to make it work. Maybe the big brands needs to learn some tips from them. Lol

I do have the Madame batifole from Guerlain, the black dahlia I got from Tom is patchy especially in my lower mid lips.

Black Dahlia seems to be alright on me, but I don't do a heavy application of it (I tend to dab it on from the bullet and blend out with my finger rather than swipe) - maybe that helps. My bottom lip even in its best condition is always a little rough or sometimes flaky and it does cause problems (I actually found it was much more of an issue with First Time than BD). For me it's the slippery formulas that migrate into my lip lines the worst. I can't even wear YSL Rouge Voluptes, for example. Thank goodness there are so many different formulas out there - you'd think we could all find at least ONE blackened/dark/purple shade that would work for each of us LOL!

Not a bad idea! I noticed that his creamy lipsticks are too waxy that they tend to migrate into lip lines or settle in lip cracks and feels a bit runny.

Runny is a good word. I was thinking wet. That's how Olivier and Luca feel to me - extra creamy and wet and slippery. But then I've loved every other formula so far. Matthew for me was the perfect creaminess. Henry, Sebastian and Stavros were effortless - no issues whatsoever. But there's a lot of variation in the formula and there's no way to know unless you try them on. That's frustrating. I get that the finishes are different on some of these but I wish they'd worked harder to ensure more consistency in the formula across finishes.

I love my Tom Ford but where he falls short he's got to own up!
Yes---if he expects to keep clients willing to shell out 50 + dollars for a lipstick. I'm wearing Wild Ginger today, BTW.

Just wanna say I went to CVS in search of Milani Foil shadows after someone posted pics of swatches that looked like a lot of fun for the middle of the lid. And they are. I noticed Revlon HD lipsticks. I buy the occasional Maybelline, but otherwise don't do drugstore lippies as I'm disappointed with them generally and feel like I could spend another couple dollars and buy MAC instead. Anyway, got their HD lipstick in Snapdragon. The formula is awesome. It feels like mousse, like nothing on your lips. And the pigmentation rocks. It's not perfect, but damn nice. I've gotta get swatches because I'm tellin ya, snapdragon isn't far from Guillermo. For reals! Of course, the wear time isn't there, but overall good. The other issue, which is why I generally avoid drugstore lippies, is the ingredients. I'm sure it doesn't have great ones. But I was impressed.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I got Matthew and Justin and maybe Stavros for next haul. Yeah they are a hit and a miss. His pinks, corals and fuchsias are pretty good.
