SAME! I told @Medgal07 i'll have to start eating them with some Ramen at this rate. But I must say.. alejandro is a stunner!!! It's wooorth it.

Alejandro and ramen - that should have been one of TF's ads. Of course, it being Tom Ford, the bowl of ramen would have to be strategically placed over the model's whoziwhatzit.

Ok so here's my issue with reds though. I don't like cool toned reds on me. And I have a hard time finding warm reds. Even neutral reds seem to often go cool when put on the lips. You know what I mean? And all the reds in this collection are cool or neutral so that's why I didn't pull the trigger. I tend to go for orange reds for exactly this reason - I need the warmth. I did get Diego. And I have Tomas which pulls red on me anyway lol.

Why do some cool tones work and not others? And I think vibrancy is part of it. If the color is very vibrant and cool enough for contrast, it has a brightening effect. But this is an experiment and I hope I don't regret it. If anyone else has an insight into this, I would love to hear it.

Yep. I am the same. I can wear almost any shade of purple and wine but reds and medium pinks give me problems. Sometimes the contrast between cool lip/warm skintone looks awesome and sometimes it makes you look ill lol. I think experimenting is necessary to figure out what works for you. And even then, sometimes you just can't know until you try it on.

I haven't tried Dior 999 but maybe I'll swatch that when I get a chance. Because as of right now I really don't have a straight up red I like. But I certainly have plenty of other lipsticks to keep me busy in the meantime! LOL

I think you would like the Dior. The SA kept trying to get me to go for Cooper and Pablo, but I just couldn't do it. Even though they looked good in the store, I did not trust the store lighting. I did order Giacomo, which I am not 100% sure about. The rest I am pretty sure will work, although in a moment of insanity, I ordered Stavros in addition. When it comes, I may stare at it and wonder what I was thinking. Or else pile on a ton of blush and a purple lip liner or something.

That happened to me with an order just before Christmas. Went through both Nordies' and UPS' customer service and the consensus was that UPS never received it. I had ordered two day shipping and needed it by a certain date so Nordies sent me a replacement by next day shipping. Only to find out that my packaged had not only been received by UPS but was also delivered on schedule *sigh* I suggest you could probably try waiting out your regular waiting time for Nordstrom packages and if it doesn't arise, escalate it again with Nordstrom.

To anybody having issues with UPS tracking from Nordies packages, CS just responded to me. UPS has finally scanned my boys but when you just refresh the tracking page it still shows "Delivered" from the old tracking. My CS rep told me to click on the arrow where it says "Shipment Progress" and it will refresh that section again. Once I do that, I can see all the tracking from the last time that number was used, as well as my package. It did not occur to me to do that (you don't normally have to do that if you have a non-recycled number) so if anyone else is having this same problem you might try that and see if it works!

But it seemed to lose a bit of that purple tone on the skin.

I'm curious what you end up thinking about that one! I felt the same way about Jack. If it swatched as purple as it is in the tube, I'd get it in a heartbeat. I got Jack and it pulls pretty purple on me! Almost identical to the bullet color. I forgot to take a picture today though and I've already washed my face for the night :haha:

True. One thing I keep thinking though is that it reminds me of the YSL Glossy Stain in Pourpre Preview. I don't know if you have that. But the shades seem very similar. And Pourpre Preview totally works on me.

Well it's still in stock at Nordies which has a great return policy if it looks like crap on me LOL. We'll see. I have a little left on a Christmas gift card I could use there too. And then really NO MORE BOYS! *scolds self*

Interesting. We have hardly any overlaps-- despite the similarity in skin tone. I guess I figured I have the warm colors and rosy browns mostly covered.

Liam, Julian, and Stavros as the only overlaps. I was originally drawn to Omar, Tomas, and Blake-- but the SA was very against them. Hope I haven't made an epic mistake here.

I got Giacomo, Luciano, Didier, Adriano, Julian, Francesco-- and then Liam, Stavros, Guillermo, and Gustavo-- the latter because I saw it swatched in a few places and thought it looked gorgeous-- seems to be a cool brown which is rather unusual. Not sure how it will play with my skin tone. Along with already having Negligee, Slander and Violet Fatale. Seeing it all down in writing makes me feel I kind of lost it a little.

BTW: how does one generate "thanks" here on Specktra?

Why was the SA against the metallics? They don't seem to be very popular. If you changed your mind I'm sure you could still get them. I just think they're different which is the strategy for some of my choices in the collection. That's probably why our choices don't necessarily overlap. Many of these are unusual (unheard of, in the case of Stavros, for example) shades for a luxury brand, so I absolutely bought some things I would not ordinarily go for because they're LE and it's an unusual opportunity to try some unique colors from TF. I went out of my comfort zone quite a bit. Are they all hits? No. I certainly prefer some over others, but I don't regret giving these colors a go

For anyone who was told Didier = Moroccan Rouge, I now have both and while Didier is lovely, it's darker and a bit redder than MR, which leans more plum. The SA told me she thought it was because my tube of MR had oxidized, but the colour looks the same on me as it always has, so I don't know. I do like the format of the smaller lipsticks; it would be nice if they introduced all of them as permanent at some point, given how fast they seem to have sold out.

I just feel over the whole GET IT NOW hype of Tom Ford collections. I like the makeup, for the most part, but I hate the frustration of trying to get it. I've been loving all the Charlotte Tilbury I've bought (and it's a lot - LOL!) and it's just so much more accessible. That tends to make the whole experience better ... just my .02.

Not sure if you are asking me about Charlotte Tilbury? Not to hijack this thread but briefly, love the Magic Cream, the lip liners, the ES quads (I have Fallen Angel, Sophisticate, Golden Goddess and and Dolce Vita) mascara, Bronze and Glow, and lipsticks. I haven't disliked anything (and I have the glosses, the eye pencils, and Wonder Glow too).

I do love my TF makeup too, but am reaching for it less these days. I just find the marketing a real turnoff. I didn't even read much about the Lips and Boys collection because I knew it was going to be a pain to get. I asked my SA to put away two Didier, and figured I would get a third on the spot; ended up with Julian.
