Wait, whaaaaat?! What's this about MAC's lipglasses turning rancid immediately? I didn't know this. Hmmm. The last two lipglasses I got were Utterly Tart and Lust for Life from the Indulge Collection.

Yuck! I haven't purchased a MAC lipglass in ages and now that you've said that I don't think I'll be purchasing one any time soon. Rancid you say!? #AintNobodyGotTimeForThat Thank you for the heads up. Spending my money on a BU of Oxblood instead.
That's what i would do :nods:
Can you elaborate on this? Are you saying they've already gone bad from the start?
Well, since you asked me... It began with when razzledazzler lipglass first came out a couple years ago. It was rancid from the getgo. I bought it and it was nasty! So i chucked it in for recycle. Then when it came out again and was perm, happened again. Then i bought a couple more LE glosses from some collab collections and whadya know, rancid. VG 1 lipglass, rancid. VG Rihanna 1 lipglass, rancid. Even my Archies lipglass was rancid. So unless i can smell the tester in person and it has the same batchcode as the one I'm buying, I'm passing on the lipglass formula from now on. The last lipglasses that i bought that weren't rancid were from the fashion sets-heroine, morange, impassioned, etc., so it's been awhile.

The most recent gloss I bought was VG Rhianna 2 and it's not gone bad. I think I'm going to take a chance on the BBQ gloss. It looked so nice on T.

MAC lipglasses are rancid from the getgo, so no matter how gorgeous they are, i refuse to buy them anymore. :nono:
Yes u are so right erine I have to limit myself with mac gloss now because they go bad so quick im a gloss girl at heart I hate that they are going bad in like 2 months or less now

I'm gonna stick to lustrglass (good ol love nectar!), and my BU lipglasses from years ago that are still good (believe it or not! So thankfull i BUd some essential colours when i did!), and NYX butter glosses (creme brulee is heaven!).

Hmm, this is all very interesting. Do you think maybe some lipglasses turn rancid faster than others because of something they use on certain colors and not others? I purchased lipglass from Sharon Osbourne collection, The Simpsons, and some from Playland but they've all been fine. The only dud that I got was De-nude from Artificially Wild and that scent was headache-inducing. Still, didn't keep me from throwing it away though because I just assumed that they used a different scent but that the general 'formula' was ok to use?

Oh God, I LOVE NYX Butter glosses, they are so pretty and they make my lips super soft. I'm really excited for the new Intense Butter glosses, especially the lavender one.

My De-nude lipglass from Artificially Wild doesn't have the usual MAC scent. It smells so floral, almost like old, granny perfume. I tried it once a while back but couldn't wear it very long because the smell was nauseating. Is that what you'd mean by 'rancid'? If yes, then I'm throwing it away. I just took the smell to mean that this was a one-off problem.  Hmm, this is all very interesting. last year I bought a couple of pastel colored lipglasses (from Playland and Novel Romance) and now they seem to have, like, cracked. There are those ridges in the texture that are filled with clear liquid. When I stir them up with the wand, though, the texture emulgates for a short time again. Don't really know how to explain this in English. I thought it might be caused by certain ingredients in those pastel-ish formulas. I've barely used them, so I'm quite disappointed in Mac lipglasses. I got some older ones like VG Nicky I and those are still all right.

This may seem like a strange question but what does rancid lipglass smell and look like? Is it sour or something? I'd like to know so I can check mine. I have a lot of MAC lipglasses. Thanks

Idk really how to describe it but it just smells "off" and nothing like the original MAC scent. You'll definitely know when you smell it!

The one I have that went bad smells like old nasty crayon, it's a very strong smell.

Any other scent than the standard vanilla scent.

Thanks for the help ladies :) I have one with a plastic type smell. It may be time to do away with it.
