Tom Ford Beauty Discussion

The only TF products that haven't worked well for me were the mascara (other cheaper products work just as well), the face primer (smells like an old gym to me), and the eye pencils that are beautiful in color but run/smear like crazy.

funniest description ever.

I'm definitely going to try those. On the liner, these were some of the comments: Too black, dries too fast. What do you think about those comments?

On the brow sculptor - is it gel or what? What makes you love it so much?

Not yet, I'm still thinking about it. I have & like Escapade but the last one I got (I think it was Platimum maybe) really irritated my eyes, so I'm not sure, and I don't like how NM took away their free returns unless you use their card so if I do get it it will be elsewhere.

I use a Burberry brow sculptor that's a lot like the TF (it was only at Saks at the time I got it, may be everywhere or nowhere now). The only reason I went with the Burberry over TF was the color. I think the TF brow sculptor is extremely popular. I love the eye liner pen too, although I am still not the best with liquid liner. I think Karen did a more in-depth review of it awhile back. Let me see if I can find it for you.

Besides Burberry, Chantecaille recently came out with one in this same style.

It's definitely not grey, it's dark cool taupish brown but the tons of silver shimmer make it look grey, when it's blended/applied on the eyes. I think it's interesting enough to be used on its own and it would be perfect for really quick smokey eyes. I hope everyone who ordered it loves it :cheer:
Any idea how it compares to the darkest color in the Chanel Mysteres quad?

I googled it and while the base might be similar, the TF one has a lot of silver shimmer and the es from the palette looks like it has golden shimmer, which completely changes the colour. But I haven't seen the Chanel quad, so I'm not sure if I'm right.

Looks so lovely! I'm bummed that I'm allergic to this formula.

Thanks for sharing these Winthrop. I may give the Eye Definer a try when I finish Charlotte Tilbury's Feline Flick.

Ha! I've been doing too much buying lately (blasphemy, I know).

To be fair, I did well with the last 3 collections... I only picked up one lipstick, Nude Dip, and the nail polish from Fall, NOTHING from holiday, and 3 of the Boys. I'm due for a TF splurge!

BTW, my SA mentioned a few of the upcoming goodies for summer... mini bronzer, more of the cream shadows, possibly another eye/cheek palette....

So, so glad you're doing better Starletta!!! Well, since you've been a good girl I guess you are due for a TF splurge.

Sounds like good stuff to look forward to for the summer!!!

Ohh that sounds interesting. I think TF is the brand I've been most interested in lately. Nude Dip was still available here a few weeks ago but I thought that it's "too nude" lol Now looking at swatches I regret not buying it.

The liner is very black and does dry quickly, but I like both of those qualities. The design of the pen makes it extremely easy to manipulate and draw a flawless line. plus I like the dual end. I avoided using this type of liner until I started using this pen. Overall it is easy to use, stays put all day, doesn't bleed/move/fade/etc, and is a beautiful deep glossy black. Only con is that it is ridiculously expensive, but I have found that these pens can last a long time before they need to be replaced. The brow sculptor applies like a dream. It allows you to perfectly draw/fill in your brows. The color lasts all day and never looks overdone or too severe. The design of the applicator is very easy to use. The only drawback is the price. Almost forgot to mention that one of the shades is the perfect color for my brows.
