Tom Ford Beauty Discussion

Hi ladies.
I hope some of you can help me with a simple question.
Im about to get the bronzer and the blush brush from TF. But what got me thinking is the TF brush hairs cut or not to get its shape?
I really love the softness of hakuhoho brushes since they are not cut only shaped before making the brush if that makes sense.
Figured i'd ask here first cause im not sure the SA will know.

Hi there Beautycake!!! Tom Ford Brushes are not cut into shape. I have both the cheek/blush and bronzer
brushes and they are nothing short of amazing!!! The bronzer brush in particular is luxury with a handle. It's
almost too big to use for bronzing. The brushes hold up well to washing, they do not retain any staining and I've
encountered any shedding. TF brushes are great investments.

I have a reaction to the TF primer, my face turns bright red. I also do not care for the lack of a better word the glistening it gives off. To me, TF either is incredible good or incredible bad. Did anyone watch the fashion show last night from LA???? Very natural look and nude lips on the models. Love the skirts that have the blue jeans top portion and the rest a lovely velvet. Also the length of the dresses, about 2 inches below the knees.
I got the E-mail to watch but hubs and I had date night so I missed it. Hope you enjoyed. I thought it was a cool way of bringing the show to more people.

I have been told the same thing by the people who would know at TF. Love his brushes. I have not had shedding issues, wash just fine.

Wow----that's too bad but I know where you're coming from. There are so many primers that have piqued my interest but I'm afraid of adverse reactions, and I've had more than a few. When I find one that works I hang onto it for dear life.

O wow I'm getting a free gwp primer i hope I can handle the smell
I have friends that absolutely love the primer and think that I am crazy when I comment on the smell. On the other hand some other people I know think that it smells funky too. Hopefully it will work well for you!

Thank you so much! I figured since the SA i spoke to was saying how she thought the brushes were made in italy, that she didnt have much knowledge of the brushes. After all, there is alot of products to keep in your head along with a busy surroundings. So yea, thank you again :)

Ugh, no! I can see soo many disasters with this concept: 1) somebody is going to steal that lipstick from the side of your bag. 2) That lipstick is going to detach itself from the side of your bag. 3) somebody is going to steal that lipstick from the side of your bag and you are going to think it detached itself lol!

Aww man. What is your skintone? I was worried that these would be too light for me as well. Ah well... more money for lippies :)
love your theory on the bag! too funny!

i am medium, prob like NC 30+ in MAC but if i go in the sun at all i could bump up pretty fast....no olive more bronze-ish - i am tawny in TF stick if that help!

i love my G bronzers like @Medgal07

The primer works best with dry skin, imo. The counters should have TF-worthy-packaged samples for you (mini-pump dispensers and all). I think whether it works for you depends on both your skin and the climate. Most TF artists that I've spoken with agree that it's not for all skin types. If you are placing a TF order, I've found that Raymond at Neiman's in SF is very generous in accommodating requests for samples for phone orders. He can also pull from other lines and put together an order for you, and email you updates with new TF things that arrive on the floor.

When I lived in Northern California, and in the summer, I think the TF primer was too rich. My skin is combo, and does pretty well in temperate climates. Now that I am in an East Coast winter, it was just what my skin needed. Windburn, indoor heat, it doesn't take long for it to show now that I'm no longer a teenager (cough cough). So I think that there is wisdom in the mixed reviews--it's not for everybody all the time. I think a "safer" primer with similar qualities is Burberry, meaning it will work for a wider range of skin types and climates. I'm on my second Burberry, it's really lovely and if anyone is shopping for primers definitely sample if you can.

By the way, WOW I am loving that Chanel micro-serum. Definitely getting the full size on that.

Italy, ugh, meanwhile i believe they all say JAPAN right on the brush! mine do! i think everyone agrees that they are made by hakuhodo but from what i have read the TF ones are of higher quality than some of the H that would be dupes as TF's are more dense thus the higher cost of TF's........

take a look at bronzer, cheek + cream brushes, they are dreamy! i went a little coo-coo and picked up others like the paddle brush and S+I that i don't often use but many others on here love them!

also, i don't own any but wayne goss are great for eye brushes too! friends who are brush obsessed say that can hold a candle to suqqu and for the 1/8th the cost WG brushes are a no brainer!

let us know how you like them!

I love Sara's blog---so happy for her.
I hope to try Spring 2015 tomorrow. It's good to know in advance that a little goes a long way! Disaster averted!!!

There's a CT thread and I think by & large the beach tints have been well received.

I'm eager to get my goodies. hope you don't have to much of a delay but it seems the weather is a mess everywhere---the snow does look so pretty
& pristine---everything is still and quiet. Enjoy your W/E too!!!

thanks for all the pics + info!

did the chanel bubble serum come with an ingredient list? any alcohol? often their skin care like sublimage line has too much alcohol for me, i use the blue toner as it is the only one that is alcohol free although the pink one looks much prettier! always on the search for good skin care! thanks! it looks adorbs!
