MAC X Bao Bao Wan Collection (March 5, 2015)

Sooooooo....just called my MAC at Flatiron and they said they aren't getting this collection....only certain locations. Then I asked MAC chat...just for kicks. They said everybody is getting it.

So frustrating when you get different answers

One time the Canandian site was glitchy and it allowed me to place an order with my US based credit card and address. Wouldn't you know that the package was dispatched from the US distribution center in Kentucky! And I KNOW it the site didn't switch over to the U.S. site when I submit my order because the Lippie I wanted was loooooonnnnggggg sold out on the US site.

That is weird. Sounds like you got lucky! MAC isn't the only company who does this. I've tried to order from the Lululemon site when something is sold out in Canada and it just bounces me back at the checkout point (while taking it out of my cart).

Wow! That is crazy! I don't know why people are having problems ordering LJ from Mac Canada. I can easily add it to my bag and check out! Definitely is still available.

Do it. Unless you're going to the store. I wasn't going to order it based on the swatches I saw before but more keep showing up and I'm curious about it. I hope it doesn't look like Good Kisser or NFP and really wanted a bright pink spring lippy. I hope it suits me. You can always swap with someone or return it if you don't like it.

Not at all! It was hysterical and I loved it because I TOTALLY understand. With access to limited quantities, you really mean limited quantities. So, I could see what you mean by it not being fair. 30 is terrible.

It is. I hope that's not the norm, but I've been told twice that inventories were that low (once was a By Request collection that can only be had online and the other was another MAC store/online only collection). It's ridiculous. I get limited…but 30?!

Mobile ordering from the MAC Canada website did not work either. As soon as I filled out my US shipping address, it took the LJ out of my cart.

That's the problem--u have a us shipping address. It worked once for me (I'm in the us) and it hasn't worked since. Your best bet is placing a phone order. They'll ship to the US for free and charge USD. Hth!

As it should. No offence, but we get a tiny inventory and we'd never get a shot at it if our neighbours with 10 times the population could shop from the site. MAC is consistent; I can't order from the US site either.

It's express 2 day shipping so I think wed. ...was the code macexp?

We in the US can't order online only collections via a phone order with Mac Canada...they only let us order if the collection is also slated to be released in stores.

The MAC Canada site is weird. I'm on the Bao Bao page now and the prices are US prices but the little flag in the bottom right corner is Canadian and I see the free shipping message for Canada. It's like it's only half re-directing me to the US site. I guess LJ was in stock a while ago, but it must have sent me back to the US site when I tried to checkout, where what I wanted was long gone. Don't know why, I'm not even in the US!

It happened to me too...I think you can click on the flag and change it to US...

Sounds like they've tried to find a reasonable compromise. That's good to know. I'll have to see if that works in reverse. We don't have the service to track down items that you do in the US (Gone but not forgotten?). That's really what I'd love to tap into.

Like what Nordstrom and a couple other retailers do? It is convenient, though I wish we could do it directly with MAC!

I thought there was a program to do that with MAC. Maybe it's just for older items? Gone but not forgotten or something like that?

Fingers crossed that once Nordstrom launches here (soon on the horizon at least for Vancouver) they will create Nordstrom Canada and our Mac options will improve!
