I like Potent Fig so much, that I own 2 (thank you, reasonable seller on eBay). I love the colour, but it has a shine to it and it just ruins it. I've also noticed with a few matte lipsticks that MAC have released, they haven't been as matte as I want them to be... I think I need to blot and invest in finishing powder
Yep! Seems as though the Mattenes that came out with the Styleseeker collection (where Camden Chic was) were very guilty of this. I haven't bought one since. Who knows, maybe these will be more true to form. I believe my Unknown Pleasure was a little bit creamier than my original Mattenes like Night Violet, but it was still nice and pleasing. Nothing to complain about. But super creamy/glossy Mattenes are a big no no!

You are right, some of MAC's mattes haven't been 'matte-like' in recent collections but either they've tweaked them again to be less creamy or I've gotten use to them. I haven't had one that applied patchy in a while (I'm looking at you, Instigator

).

Good lord, yes yes yes to all of that. It was horrible! Never could get over how 'clean' my lips looked underneath just taking a tissue and wiping off Camden Chic.

I'll always remember AudreyC from Canada (I think that was her screen name) having the exact same problem cause we were on here talking about it.

Touch wood, I've never had an issue with Instgator. Nothing but opaqueness and matteness from Instigator, its only Runner I've had an issue where its not matte enough.. And Punk Couture... Actually PC has been used quite a lot and lost all matteness now

Oh no, your PC lost its matteness? Well, have you been storing it in a cool dry place or did you carry it around with you a lot?

Yeah, Instigator slips and slides on me a good deal even though it isn't as bad as Camden. However, because it isn't a matte as it is supposed to be, it never can set right with even coverage.

I've always put PC away after use. The only time I carried it around was when I do my makeup on the tube. I do have another one that I depotted, but I won't be using it until I finished what I have in the tube first. It was such a beautiful matte lipstick, till it started to turn into a satin lipstick by the week

Hmmm, that is strange. But you know what, now that I think about it, I could swear that the consistency of a couple of my NARS Semi-Matte lipsticks did change after so many uses. I thought I was just going crazy even though two of them did this. They didn't apply the same. Took more effort to get a build up and the lipstick just felt a bit different. Happened with my Scarlet Empress and Fire Down Below. I also own Red Lizard but haven't quite noticed it with that one.
