I'm wearing that one today, I like it, it's the first one I've tried. For something shiny its longlasting, in debating getting more before they're gone!I ordered I'm Game so I can see how the formula is on me. If it's as good as everyone says I'll try some more. i hope that these don't sell out for awhile so I have time to pick more up if I want. Looking forward to more swatches!
thought we had you. Mine from last year, are opaque.Swatched Fashion Force today, it's nice. They are pretty lipsticks, but I don't know that I want to spend $20 on a glossy lipstick that isn't opaque.
If you prefer opaque I'd say skip. Doesn't make sense spending money on something you'd wear once and have take up storage lol. From what I've heard though, they are more for people who don't want a lot of pigment and want something moisturising. That said, formulas like these tend to look less pigmented on an arm swatch for a darker skinned person that it would on the lips. Our lips aren't NW45 lol.Swatched Fashion Force today, it's nice. It definitely feels nice. I'm open to trying one with my Bloomies gift card! The last couple years I've been stepping away from glosses and glossy/shiny lips because that's all I used to wear for many years, especially nudes. Started wearing more mattes and colors. In the summer I wear more glosses, neutrals, corals, etc for sure though.thought we had you. Mine from last year, are opaque.
Exactly, not everyone does but I like my lipsticks that way otherwise I'd buy a gloss or tinted lip balm for cheaper. My personal preference right now. I go through phases on what look I want.Well not everyone wants opaque. I do not value lipsticks based on how opaque they are. I wouldn't wear opaque even if someone paid me to.
Yes I see that re moisturizing and less pigment. Definitely a hand swatch isn't the same as the lips but it's a good gauge. I can tell the formula (which I like) and how pigmented it is. Actually my lips are darker than my hand! LollllIf you prefer opaque I'd say skip. Doesn't make sense spending money on something you'd wear once and have take up storage lol. I have the Dior Lipglow, but it's running low so I might go back for another color I can use on a not so made up day. Lately I've been using Fresh Rosé, but I'm down to a deluxe sample that I got from who knows what. I know that won't last long so I'll need something else with a little bit of color.I bought Play It Soft and Fashion Force this morning. I tried "I'm In" but it looked so pale on my skin that I wasn't sure about it... it really reminded me of the Dior Lipglow I have so I left without it. I'm open to reconsidering it but I'll see how the two I bought work out for now. My counter didn't get very many of each colour... like four of each so I bought one back up of Play It Soft just in case. The MUA was really surprised by how little they sent that counter.
Aww. I didn't think I would cause anyone to revisit colors they originally crossed off their list. Haha. I have to go back through this thread and see if there's a barely there color I like for an every day look. Or if I should just start creating my own now before my Rosé runs out.I dont think I tried Play It soft but when I came back to this thread and looked at TwiggyPops swatches again I felt like I should of, I did try a bright pink but I dont remember what it was. Fashion Force I liked as well but I dont think corals look the best on me unfortunately. I got Im In, it was light on me as well but I dont have many of those types of colours and (I guess) its nice to tone it down sometimes
The way I see it, glossy and moisturizing is a dime a dozen. I can get a good one at the drugstore, NYX, etc. I said I wouldn't pay $20 for a lipstick like this, I didn't say it wasn't worth itexactly!
I agree with you but saying something is not worth 20$ just because it's sheer to me doesn't make sense. I would pay even more if I like the lipstick - if it's sheer moisturizing and i like the color. there are sheer lipsticks on the market that are 50$
thankfully there is something for everyone on the market
Post swatches of the others when you wear them, if you can. I don't know if I'll have any money to buy more but I still want to see them! I have to get my car inspected this month and that always costs a lot. I miss living in Georgia and Cali where there are only emissions inspections. The "safety" inspections are rip- offs, IMO.I'm wearing that one today, I like it, it's the first one I've tried. Just swatched them all and I like the orange one for sure. A couple others too but can't remember their names!I felt like my were pigmented, but definitely not like a matte. I think you should pick them up if you find them at a CCO. I feel you for not being into them right now.
I am like you as far as wanting to see the color of a lipstick, but I've tried out things I wouldn't have considered before Specktra. I didn't buy any of these the last time but I heard so many women rave about them that I'm trying them this time. My lips have gotten deeper, horizontal wrinkles in the past year, and some of the matte and satin lippies really show those lines. I've heard that these are great about not showing those, so that's a big draw for me. I remember being curious about why so many people liked the "kittenish" Patentpolish pencil, but I bought it and it grew on me. I will def be buying more of those when they're made perm. They're so easy to use and they have good opacity for the deeper colors. The way I see it, glossy and moisturizing is a dime a dozen. I can get a good one at the drugstore, NYX, etc. I said I wouldn't pay $20 for a lipstick like this, I didn't say it wasn't worth it  I'm sure it is for many people. And that being said, I would still use my gift card on one to try it on my actual lips! Who knows, after trying that one I may buy the whole collection! But when I go to MAC, it's usually for drama, matte (because they have that formula down to a science imo), unique, limited edition, etc. I don't really bother with their other products except for maybe a few blushes. But since being here I've been exposed to more than I would look at on my own (lustres for one). So if you ladies say something is nice, great, etc., I go check it out and base my opinion on that. I want to go swatch more of them when I go pick up my Fruit Cocktail lip liner...another purchase encouraged by Specktra chickies :haha: Yes there is something for everyone thankfully. Every time I get a notification from this thread I'm like what's the big deal? But that got me going to look though! There are people in here who won't care for the Valli collection like others do, and that's cool. We're all different but the same in that we love makeup! ompom:exactly! Yup, exactly what I was saying re Specktra opening up the possibilities. I've bought 6 lustres since joining! Me! And I'm with you on the mattes showing up lines and it's been bothering me more and more how high maintenance they are. I love the feel off the Huggables on my hand so I can imagine my lips! The main issue is I feel like a lot of them I already have similar shiny/glossy shades. One even reminded me of Call The Hairdresser from MIB. I was drawn to the orange and bright pink go figure but then I always end up with shades like that! Yes, I am always drawn to colors that I already have. I B2M'ed for Make Me Gorgeous and when I put it on yesterday I wondered why I had bought ANOTHER orange. At this point there are probably no colors I don't already have. Only fancy packaging or a unique formula are good reasons for me to buy new lippies. I need to spend my money on skincare but it's not as fun.Yup, exactly what I was saying re Specktra opening up the possibilities. I've bought 6 lustres since joining! Me! We are similar because that's the first lippie I wanted and got from MIB. Then it reminded me of Burmese Kiss from BBW which I also have. What color did you get in this collection again? I'm getting one next week. I get Tumble Dry on Monday so I need to check that one out first.Yes, I am always drawn to colors that I already have. I got I'm Game. I thought about Bare Hug but I wanted just 1 to try out, and I figured that I'd like a raspberry color. So I'll get that on Monday and my Wash n Dry stuff on Tuesday. I went a little crazy with that collection so I may have to return some things. I got Crisp Whites and Hipness Blushes, Tumble Dry and Steam Heat lippies, and I had to get a bronzer, mostly for the compact. I got the Golden Rinse one. Oh and I keep forgetting I bought a lip gloss, guess which color? The orange, of course! We are similar because that's the first lippie I wanted and got from MIB. Hahahahaha, that lipglass was on my list from the beginning! Then I decided not to since I got the orange L'Oreal gloss from the Tarjay Lilly Pulitzer collection recently. Just got Hipness and TD for now, the rest I'll check out in store, like Refined Golden and FU. I think Bare Hug is one I liked, I need to look at swatches. Edit: I swatched and liked Dramatical, Glamorized, Play It Soft and I'm Game. Soft Talkin looks nice based on Monsy's swatch. You're going to like it, I'm telling you it really hugs on my hand so I can imagine the lips. T's lip swatches look like she has Vaseline on her lips with a hint of color. Ugh.I got I'm Game.
