Guerlain discussion

Tell me about it. I don't think any company can seriously say that they know what their potential market is if they don't have an active social media department. It's more than just posting pics on instagram but they should be paying attention the blog comments and so on to get a feel of what people really do want and don't want! E.g., if there are any Guerlain people lurking... take note, no more bronzer diapers!! lol
:nods: :D

So pretty! I'm glad you are enjoying your beauties! I love your combination, it's giving me ideas...keep them coming.
Lol I'm loving this one Thank you [@]JerseyGirl[/@]!
YOU did a great job AWS!  I love that name, 'Brownie & Clyde'----super cute!!!!
Thank you [@]Medgal07[/@]! I'm so impressed by the texture and colour! I was going to check out a Tilbury palette like RockChick but I've so many neutrals

Love that color on you I don't blame you. I wonder how they decide if we are going to get something or not?  Like some of the Asia exclusives.  Um, US has an Asia population here to ya know?  Or any other country
What's up with that? If it's a super-matte powder, for example, well there are lots of hot climates, etc

I did! The transaction with smoothly with the seller I used. They had tons and tons of reviews and above 98% positive ratings. I hope you get yours swiftly and easily!  You really should! I loooooove them! Especially dabbed on my cheekbones with a damp beauty blender. I love hippo, but my favorite out of the 7 I ordered is Lunch Money!! It's beautiful and goes with most of my blush/bronzer combos I wear daily. I've been reaching for that one every day this week until I decided to do hippo+CG.
Great to hear your eBay experience was good! My seller is in Singapore, they also had the 98-99% rating with like 8,000 + reviews, so I'm resting assured that everything will go smoothly! Wow, so you got 7 of the CPs! That's awesome, they must be really amazing. And who can't beat those prices! I looked up hippo and it's gorgeous, love the lavender undertone. I'm going to order a few when I place my order for the liquid lipsticks that are being released later this week. I thought they're worth a try at $6 lol

I received my Chanel Misia sample and tried it on, but to me it doesn't smell like Meteorites at all and it's not particularly nice on me either, so I'm glad I opted for a sample rather than forking out for a full bottle.

I detect the Meteorites right at the opening, but then it changes on me to something else as well. The only thing that really reminds me of the meteorites is a candy mint made by "Choward's" called "Violet." I worked in a drug store as a teenager and we carried that for one lady customer who used to buy them. Any time I open a Meteorite tin, that is what I smell. It's funny the memory a "smell" can trigger.

Appreciate that confirmation. I would have made a $160 mistake

Well, according to Guerlain, the smell of meteorites is violette (same as the candy mentioned before), so a perfume based on violettes would probably smell like meteorites. http://www.fragrantica.com/notes/Violet-116.html
Violet aromas can be found in the following fragrances: Angel Garden Of Stars - Violette Angel (Thierry Mugler) Ultraviolet (Paco Rabanne) April Violets (Yardley) Black Violet La Violette (Annick Goutal) Verte Violette (L'Artisan Parfumeur) Violette Precieusse (Caron) - created in 1913, launched again in 1999, and re-launched in 2007 Oscar Violet (Oscar de la Renta) Caprice Violette (Lolita Lempicka)
There are quite a few other perfumes mentioned, and did you know there used to be a Meteorites perfume? http://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Guerlain/Meteorites-4045.html

Apparently not enough. Perhaps there are other end notes in the fragrance that cancel out the violet notes

Something is off!!

On me, it does smell like the meteorites. It smells of something else only in the first 1-2 minutes. I almost didn't buy it because of that smell - it reminds me of whiskey, which I hate, but after that it turns into violets.
We also have this type of candy:

I think of them every time I open the meteorites.

I love violets in fragrance and have tons of them - Ultraviolet, cartier baiser vole , balenciaga paris... and none of them smell not even CLOSE to meteorites. yes meteorites do have violet scent to them but there is more than just violet

Oh it's definitely a combination of notes. Guerlain should focus on a Météorites fragrance and stop trying to
come up some new age futuristic packaging!!!

I just got my shipping notice for my Terracotta Terre D'Été Bronzing Powder from Saks. This is way before the originally projected shipping date, which is fine with me.

Oh that looks so pretty----and yummy!!! That's really something----someone else had the opposite
occur---violets in the beginning and something else after that initial violet hit.

come up some new age futuristic packaging!!!
That's why I always test the perfume on my skin before purchasing - the exact same perfume can smell amazing on one person and disgusting on another!
My brother loves the candy and he always says that the meteorites smell delicious

I think it's the other way around - the meteorites are much closer to the pure violet scent and the perfumes are obviously a combination of many different notes.
yes you might be right! I am sure fragrances have more scent ingredients than meteorites.

I definitely can't smell the Meteorites on my wrist. Been sniffing it all day.

I'd say out of the ones mentioned earlier. Yardley's April Violets does smell of Meteorites quite a bit. I always thought Insolence does too. Anyone knows if the discontinued Meteorites perfume actually smells of Meteorites?

Oh and we have Parma Violets (sweets) here and they also smell of Meteorites. Plus they're very yummy.
