I'm around a NARS Fiji/ Punjab shade, B20-B30 Chanel/ YSL foundations.

Since these products are not cheap you might be better off in-store to play around with the colors to determine what works for you and what you really like.

That swatches really well on you meddy!!! Mine didn't swatch anything like it!! It was like it had a hard surface or something and powder felt really dry!! :shock: maybe I should try and exchange it for another one!!

I know old news for most of you, but I was playing with several of my new boys and wanted to compare them. Jack, Francesco, Giacomo

Interesting how slightly different they look swatched, but on my lips, the slight differences are more apparent. I really like each of them.

The only one that I haven't seen in stores is Narcissist 01, the really bright Magenta Pink one.

I own 01 Narcissistic or however it is spelled. I use the Mac fan brush for that baby. Looks great with the lip shine Ravenous. Stash shopping, great to go through and find what is collecting dust.

Electric Pink might be good too. I went for Ravenous over Electric Pink. Velvet Violet might work too.

Ok ladies, is this makeup overpriced or is it just super amazing?

What products are especially awesome and worth the money?

It's a hard sell for me because even NARS is a lot cheaper than TF. It's hard for me to imagine shelling out double and triple the money of most other brands to get TF products, but if they are totally incredible maybe I could get a few things.

I was so stunned when I put it on one eye because most of the swatches that we've seen were pretty sheer.

I remember watching a segment on 60 Minutes about high end eyeglass frames. Regardless of the designer, Chanel, TF, whomever, they are made at the same factory in Italy. Using the same materials. I have nothing to base the following on except for being the daughter of an accountant.....

If TF is owned by Lauder, Mac is owned by Lauder, are these products being made in the same factory? The lipstick colors are close to each other, but perhaps more expensive additives are being added to TF? As I was putzing yesterday in my makeup sanctuary, to me, there are many Mac lipsticks the same color as TF. No they aren't as smooth as TF, but the color to my untrained eye is an exact match.

Daddy also said the little Boy's containers probably cost more to make, and since they have a limited use vs. the across the board use of the Men containers, that is why the extra 1.00 in cost. As in when you make the cast or mold of a container, the more you are able to use the same mold, it makes the accountants happy.

I have these three as well (and way too many others from the original sale.) Jack I bought belatedly and it is my favorite too.

Honestly, I reach for my Chanels and other brands as much as I do my TF lippies. I obsessed over which ones to get for weeks and weeks, and in the end, there are just a few that I wear a lot so if you are the kind of person who can really figure out that one color that is right for you, that is great. But the one I wear the most, I got as an afterthought. On his eyeshadows, I love the quality but the selection for cool toned girls who wear cool colors is limited. I have nearly all of those by now and I do wear them a lot.

What I found for me was that at this price point, it is better to go to a counter where the SA will stand back and let you play with the colors and then step outside and check it out in the day light, than it is to go to the counter where the SA will do you a brilliant makeup and you kind of feel obligated to buy and wind up with things that they rave about on you but which you don't really use. I now steer clear of that counter.

Meanwhile, I am moving for a job and am going to be away from the counters, so I am trying to cultivate a few SAs for my favorite brands who will ship from stores with good return policies.
