I don't know if you can see this is before it was washed just now I just know not to buy one crazy brush at a ridiculous price when I have used it twice And that happens when I pull off the cover :(
I don't store it in a cover. It looks fine after I wash it and let it dry.

I think it's not so much TF trying to compete with CL as it is Sephora trying to compete with Nordies, Bloomingdales, etc. Department shopping online trumps Sephora but in store shopping at Sephora is much better. Everything is there and the SAs aren't representing one brand, but several. Where as is if you go into your local Nordstrom and ask the MAC sales associate for a nud lipstick, she'll sell you a MAC Nude lipstick. I think if Sephora starts bringing in higher brands like Chanticalle or La Prarie then they're going to start passing off brands like Benefit or Too Faced to Ulta. And then Ulta will be known as mid-low and Sephora will be known as high end. I think they're trying to switch their target audience. They're realizing that people will spend money for the makeup. The industry of selling makeup is changing with YouTube personoas selling Morphe, MUG, etc. Sephora has to find a way to change as well. Just my two cents :)

I think it's a mutual back-scratch situation, but you must admit the timing is suspect..that TF FINALLY goes to Sephora after CL does so well with the lipsticks there (I think the nail polishes are a different creature). Perhaps it's just coincidence. Either way it will likely be good for consumers because part of being at Sephora is having Sephora exclusives, right?? Hopefully, it won't just be earlier release but like special colors or sets.

Hello! I was wondering if anyone here could help me choose my first shades of Tom ford lipstick. I have a few products of the collection - Moodlight powder duo, Nude dip quad, a bunch of the cream eyeshadows... But I've never tried any of the lipsticks. I've been wanting them for months but I never splurge. I think it's about time I do. I can't swatch in store because of international shopping so I thought one of you could maybe help me out.

I'm very fair, with olive undertones. I have very blonde, almost white hair and green/hazel eyes. And I love my neutrals. Some of the colors I've been lusting after are Spanish Pink, Blush Nude and So Vain. But I really need some suggestions on what could look good on me :) thank you.

I wouldn't worry about it being stained. Sometimes the bristles look yellow when they are wet. And the cover is probably what bent the bristles as well. I just got two new tom ford brushes last night and when I took the cover off it bent the bristles. I washed it and checked it this morning and they're fine now. I would avoid storing it in the cover.

Hi there thank you for good advice :) Have left the cover off now :) it's looking loads better but some are abit sticky out especially when I use it But I'm sure it be ok :) thank you ️ I'm prob just fussing !!! And just didn't expect a expensive brush to do that and why sell with covers if they are a nuisance to the brush lol my thinking is that it was sold with the brush it should be used with the brush to keep all dust out :( that's why I left the cover on Maybe I didn't clean it enough for the bristles not to go back to white colour I don't know but I'm not going to fuss around I cleaned it enough till water ran clear Maybe I bought a dodgy brush lol Not going to fuss not going to fuss !!!!! I am worse with clothes if buy something with thread hanging out or a sequin hanging off or what not I'm so bad like that . Over the years I been a lot better :)))

it's ok to be fussy about what you spend your money on. What do you use to clean your burshes? Maybe you need to try something different to get the stain out?
I think having some brush hair stick out is normal. Just shape it as best you can while wet. You now what is funny, I have to do that with my hair. I'm a curly girl and have to style while wet. When it dries it does what it wants anyway. LMAO

I agree with the back scratch scenario but the brand has to want to be sold there and be willing to allow them to take a percentage of the profits. I'm pretty sure TF didn't think he needed Sephora not to mention him having to pay them to sell his products there. He'd much rather give his money to high end retailers that he already has a relationship with since going back to his Gucci days. Initially he felt no purpose in his products needing to be sold at Sephora until CL made his debut not to mention his sales in as a whole might have gone down as well. So you have to do what you have to do to stay competitive in an already extremely competitive market.

Back in the day Sephora use to sell a lot of high end brands but they backed out because Sephora kept increasing the percentage of which the brand had to pay to be sold there. It use to be that Sephora was indeed considered high end where as Ulta is where you would get your lesser known/cheaper brands. However the higher end the brand, the more percentage Sephora is going to charge and depending on the amount of products being sold it ends up not being worth it for the high end brand to be sold there. That is why Sephora launched it's own brand because it needs more profit as them going up on percentage rates does nothing but drive brands out of the store and they can't afford for that to happen. Back then the member perks use to be 1000% better than what they are now as well because they had the extra money to spend because of how well the profits were. One of brand marketers for Marc Jacobs told me Sephora offered a very great percentage if he chose to only sell exclusively to them, so that's what he did and I'm sure they offered TF a good percentage as well. Sephora needs the business because they haven't done well since they changed CEOs so hopefully they'll get back to where they were because it's a very strong market now but the business aspect has to be done right or else it will still fail. I miss the old Sephora days and only shop during my birthday month to get my free gift because I get better incentives shopping at department stores.

Same! My first TF lipstick is less than a year old and half of them don't smell very nice now :eek:hboy:
And living in the uk no matter when we bought the lipsticks will not be able to return them if smell bad As the companies we bought from would say tough or that think we make it up about them smelling lol so I will not be returning any of mine I have had one or two last year and rest this year and I not smelt mine yet I don't want to lol as I know here we cannot do anything about it :(

Yes! I read so many posts about people returning the lipsticks, when they start to smell bad, and I'm glad they can do that but we don't have this opportunity here. There's no way we can return a used lipstick months after we've purchased it, even if it stinks! I love the formula, I love the shades and I love how they feel on my lips but I won't be buying more in the near future.

Yeah I'm only continuing to buy because I can return them otherwise I wouldn't but even being that I can return them. I'm going to be very select of what I choose and make sure it is a lipstick I will use often so at least whenever it does go bad I got a good amount of use out it as I don't want to always return even though I can and my SA doesn't have a problem with it.

I treat expired cosmetics the same way as expired food. I would not eat or drink anything that is expired so I'm not going to put anything that's expired around/near my mouth or on my face. Bacteria is bacteria regardless of where it comes from all of it is harmful and can cause severe reactions. This is also why cleaning your brushes is very important as well, makeup is fun and nice to have but it's still full of chemicals and you have to be careful.
