MAC Shiny Pretty Things (Holiday 2018)

Lost my mind as usual at the Shiny Pretty Things pary. I liked more of the sets tann I thought I would. I may have to do a haul 2. I saw the ribbon set had beaming blush in it and I was confused becase the Nordies SA said it had Whisper of Gilt in it but now I see from here that was a Nordies exclusive which I was happy to pass on but beaming blush hmm I don’t know . I don’t need it but it was so cute. I may go back for that one. I mostly picked up the color collection. I went for the new highlighter of course. The SA layered it on like mad! I look crazy . But the color is beautiful and unusual.

Now is it just me or does the new Snowflushed highlighter look extremely similar to last year's Delicate Drift and Stylishly Merry EDES? I tried Delicate Drift as a face highlighter today and it looks pretty much alike to what I've seen on demos on Instagram. Do I realistically "need" both?

eta: I am going to wait a hot minute on ordering anything. I just got my Marc Jacob highlighter and my Becca face palette yesterday. ;)

Did you happen to try the Med/Deep face trio? If so, how is it? Is it usable for NC50?

This has been a really lackluster year for MAC. I usually get excited for the holiday collection, but not this year. I received an email today for pre-order of some mini kits for Obsessed members. I will barely be holding onto my Obsessed status for next year.

I looked at the website and it was hard to find things. It seems that many sets are missing. I bought the nude lipgloss set at the party but there was also a brighter gloss set. I was hoping to take a look at the colors on the website because there were so many things at the party I couldn't take a close look at all of them. I don't see the lip set either. I liked the nude lip set with the gloss and lipstick and pencil. The gloss and lipstick were new color but the pencil was Boldly Bare if I remember right. There was a darker set too but I'm not sure if it was a red or berry color. There was also a mini palette of warm eyeshadow colors. I was hoping to take a look at the shades to see if they were new colors or not but it is not there. Not that I need that anyway. But I was curious.

I'm such a dope. I just noticed the order form that was in my bag had the products listed for sale on it. I know it didn't have the color collection on it. I'm assuming that is coming later as the email invitation said they would have everything available even items that wouldn't be available for sale until November but when I asked the MA which ones wouldn't come until November she said she didn't know. I do see a Turquatic gift set listed. I didn't notice it at the store. I also didn't notice there was an insert of 6 face charts. I'm excited about that. The only thing is they generally listed products used on the face chart and are not too specific unfortunately.

I picked up:
-Shiny Pretty Things eyeshadows - These don't say they are Dazzle shadows. I didn't think of Dazzle shadows when I saw them. I think they are super shimmery and have a duochrome to them. I thought I could leave the silvery one but I saw the duo chrome strongest in that one looked purple like in some light so took that one too. I haven't worn these yet but I will update how they wear when I do.

-Snowflushed highlighter - I have Delicate Drift and Stylishly Merry - Hmm. I will find them and compare them. I wore this yesterday and I was able to tone it down from the SA's application but I had to be careful. I liked it a lot though. I used my Wayne Goss fan brush.

I think I mentioned the rest already but I also picked up:

-Medium/Deep Shiny Pretty Things Face Compact
-Wink of Pink lipstick
-Caketop lipglass
-nude mini lipgloss set
-Holiday Time Dazzle eyeliner -gold
I didn't see the navy dazzle eyeliner - I didn't see a space for it on the display either. strange.

They gave out a Mac ornament and ribbon bow keychain GWP and you got to pick your color which was nice and packed it all in the Mac Select Shopping Bag. I was so happy to go to the party. I haven't been invited to one in so long. I thought Mac forgot all about me.

I'm still interested in:
-nude lip kit
-beaming blush set
-advance brush set
-eyeshadow palettes

I’m broke ...the lipstick kit ( if u want one check on availability mine only got 15 and one is a tester) eyeshadow she got 3 or 4 of each color and after testers) the red lipstick isn’t your typical red and it felt great on the lips and I got a pinky glittery lipstick. The red glitter set, the nude lipstick kit ( maybe small but Hello and I am no nude lipstick girl) the highlighter and bronze trio is smooth and suits my skin color surprisingly. Not to mention the new powder lipsticks and I’m going back for the pink lipgloss set cause the pink lipgloss is popping! Not in love with the packaging and yes I too did miss a fall collection but I am definitely happy with the holiday products

Hey gorgeous! I’m totally not surprised you like that one.
I got the red, the pink and the nude.
I was going to get an eyeshadow but decided to wait until I could see it IRL.
i am also keeping an eye on the gold liner and the “bright” mini lipstick set.
