OMG! same! I got a perfume I can't stand as a gift (omnia crystalline.. if i want to smell like baby powder i'll raid my kids diaper bag lol)..... anyways i know for a fact it was from sephora because i was there when my mom bought it (she initially bought it for herself but then passed it on to me smh) but i didn't have a receipt. btw this was a BRAND NEW perfume, never opened, still in the plastic wrap. so i went in store to try to do an exchange for something more palatable and they LECTURED me about the exchange, refused to do it because now they apparently do not do ANY exchanges without a receipt, and even went so far as to say the perfume wasn't purchased at sephora. if the policy has changed, ok fine, but to insinuate that i am lying or trying to pull the wool over their eyes, is unacceptable. idk what was the point of introducing the tier system if they are just going to treat customers worse and worse the higher up the totem you get. then when i asked for the associates name so i can fill out one of those customer service surveys they always bug you about, the two girls at the cash kept trying to dodge giving me any names, literally making up excuses like "oh we don't have any paper here to write it down sorry" and other ridiculous reasons to try to get out of receiving any negative feedback. i never actually did the survey (lol) but wow, mentioning it sure made them squirm!Oh is it only for Canada? I am in Canada so I guess that makes sense. I don't know why they did it only here though. Did we do something wrong? It's not like they give us access to Flash shipping or any really great perks. Sometimes it takes me a few days or weeks to even get to opening something new I've bought from them so I don't know if I care for the policy or not but it seems to be in line with other store returns in Canada so I guess it's not out of the norm here.
The way the info was delivered to me almost felt like a lecture. I was looking around like a kid trying to escape the principal's office, feeling the heat for something I didn't do.
anyways, anyone know if this is the policy in the states also? i'd love to exchange the perfume next time i'm in NY if i can.
edit: hold on, you're in canada and they told you they will do store credit? they apparently don't do store credit here anymore since the beginning of the year or so... so sketchy how they can't keep it straight lol. idk what's up with sephora anymore, the bay and shoppers/murale are looking better and better to me...
