I've been going back and forth about this. I don't actually have that palette so its a plus. I was surprised I was Rouge as I didn't think I made any big purchases. I went back through my purchases page for last year and added it up and yup I did it. No big purchases though. So I probably will again not purposely though. I don't tend to use samples and minis much so I just may buy a regular size. I couldn't find many pics of people wearing it though.
I was going back and forth about it yesterday but finally took the plunge and purchased it. Between all of the "VIB ROUGE Exclusive, Sephora Exclusive, Limited Edition, Online Only" phrases that they used to express it's limited availability, I got sucked in, lol. Fortunately, I don't have the palette though, so like you said, it's more of an incentive to buy it. I spent a lot more than I thought I would last year so I wouldn't be surprised if unintentionally re-qualified this year as well and end up with a mini version of the blush, even though I would like to greatly reduce my spending at Sephora since their VIB Rouge program doesn't offer enough for what you have to spend to reach VIB Rouge status. The only person I saw reviewing it was Temptalia, who reviewed it when it was sold exclusively in the palette.
I might get this blush if it's still around Tuesday for the bite launch. I was thinking about rouge the other day and I don't think I'll make it this year. That's a first for me to even think about that. It's just a feeling I have. I'm being more selective lately and looking elsewhere. I haven't bought much from Sephora since the summer. Rouge really has no benefits and so I won't aspire to renew.
I know how you feel. Towards the end of last year, I started being a lot more selective about the products I purchase and where I purchase them from. I think that other stores have better incentive programs without having to spend nearly as much and sometimes, other stores offer better deals on some of the same products that Sephora sells so I'm trying to stick to only purchasing products from Sephora that I can't get anywhere else and shop elsewhere for other products. Whether that cuts down my spending at Sephora enough to not re-qualify for Rouge is only something that time will tell for me, however, I don't aspire to renew either.
I have the palette so I don't feel a need to buy the blush in full pan form. Especially since I rarely reach for that specific color. I think I'll end up qualifying as a Rouge just because of how things tend to work out (if you spend $100 / month at Sephora you're already qualified for 2017, it'll just add up). Plus I love makeup so
But I agree, the benefits aren't really worth it to me.
Since you already have it in the palette, are there any other comparable colors in the NARS collection that you may have in your collection that you think are similar? I checked Temptalia's dupe list for the blush from the palette and she compared it to Dolce Vita, so I'm curious to see if others agree. Also, if you think about how much you have to spend to reach Rouge status, it seems like a lot but spending a $100 a month at a place like Sephora doesn't seem so hard if you are a makeup and skincare lover. It's easy to spend that much a month even if you buy a handful of products due to the price points of a lot of their products. Now that I think about it, I wouldn't be surprised if I ended up re-qualifying, lol.
Very pretty! Not terribly unique in my collection, and I'm not too fond of Nars blushes...some I really like, but quite a few I decluttered and wasted my coins. I also don't want to re-qualify for Rouge this year. It's not worth it, and I have soooo much already! I'd be tempted to grab it during a sale but it's nothing I'm feeling crazy about.
According to Temptalia's website, there are quite a few dupes for this blush including Dolce Vita (which happens to be the blush I use most so I don't mind having another similar blush) so I'm sure if you have a good number of blushes in your collection, there's something similar enough in your collection to warrant not needing to purchase it at all or purchase it right away. It's really a shame on the company's end that so many people are trying to avoid re-qualifying due to the lack of unique and valuable incentives in the VIB Rouge program. These types of programs are supposed to encourage people to spend more but their program is doing the opposite and Sephora hasn't done anything yet to make people feel like it's worth it, despite customers constantly saying that they don't feel like it's worth it.
