About ten years ago, I had such a bad experience returning an item to sephora without a receipt and was so outraged when they tried to say I was committing some sort of fraud (although could not provide any proof whatsoever), that I went in there with literally every item I had ever purchased from sephora and it was about $3000+ Some with receipts and some without and demanded that they refund me for everything back on to my credit card or I would be notifying the news stations and paper about how they were treating me. The salesperson who had made these accusations quickly called the manager who in turn attempted to remedy the problem by claiming the employee was new (yeah, whatever) and how if I took everything back (as I dumped it all on their counter), that they would give me a free $300 gift card to spend in the store. I said no thank you, I don't wish to spend my money at a place that will make me feel like I stole something just because I misplaced my receipt. They pulled my record through email and saw I spent thousands in their store. Reluctantly after I wouldn't back down from wanting my money back for all previous purchases, they spent half an hour looking up UPC codes and prices and refunded all my makeup purchases back on to my credit card. Needless to say, I didn't shop there again for over 5 years. Anyone else out there go to the extreme of returning due to horrific customer service? Obviously with all the stuff I brought back, they realized I had been a loyal customer for years -- just not anymore.
