I got a call from my Saks SA and my Notorious arrived at the store. My gift has also been set aside for me. She's just waiting for the Holiday collection to come in before she ships everything out to me. She says it should arrive "any day now" and I hope that it's today.

What gift is SAKS doing - the bags too?

I want Ultra Rose Ok, I breezing through Macy's this morning and I SAW THE HOLIDAY COLLECTION! It looked funny, on a bootleg display. It was some clear little box and the items just sitting on top. I thought it was a tease, so I asked the MUA (who was doing someones face) and she said they have all the products! I started playing with everything. I played with the gold Illusion D'ombre first. It's really pretty, so, so smooth just like the other ones. It's sheer but not disgustingly so. You can build it up. I will go back for that one. The loose powder is very nice, but much better suited for the pale set, IMO. The same goes for the blush. I'm jealous of you girls who can rock it. I swatched the dark plum lipstick and it's very nice, but I'm not much into vampy colors. The glossimers are nice, but I don't need those either. Mystery, the only one I was interested in, seemed to milky. I saved the best for last: THE QUAD. Drop dead gorgeous, do you hear me?! I knew I would love it. Awesomely pigmented, smooth and the colors show up true. The MUA told me I'm the very first one to buy it and then the woman who was getting her makeup done was curious. I think she's new to the brand because she was asking a lot of questions. I was actually answering some of them for her. I bet she bought that whole damn collection after I left. She kept going "wow!" :haha: I tested the quad at home, looking crazy with different colors on each eye. The color I was most excited for, the soft pink shows up true on my lid. I have a problem with pinks like that looking too gold on my lid. This is a light pink that works for me. The gold is to die for. I definitely want the illusion d'ombre to layer with it. The burgundy is perfect and so is the dark taupe. I just can't say anything other than it's stunning. I own 4, maybe 5 Chanel quads and this one is the best. It tops my beloved Lilium. :sigh: I am floating right now. Oh and I stopped by a Mac counter in Nordstroms and asked the MUA for a blush she thinks would look nice with the quad and she gave me Loverush. I've never ever seen that blush before. It's really pretty and it is a nice compliment to the quad. Now for the lip.

Ultra Rose is available here in France. It was launched with 3 others at the same time : Malice, Tumulte and Rouge. I think they were exclusive blushes only available rue Cambon and Av. Montaigne in Paris, then they came here. Rouge is from Byzance, I don't know when Byzance was released in the US or in Canada if ever it was released.

Malice has finally made it to Europe? :yahoo: Do you know if it's in the baked formula? I think I might use my 20% off voucher after all. Maybe along with Ultra Rose..

It is glittery. It's a pale pink with a lot of glitter. I don't know how that would translate to the face, though. Sometimes glitter is OK and sometimes it's a big mess.

From what I recall, it's a black cosmetic bag with an eye cream and mascara sample, and some Chanel post-it notes. Can't remember if there's anything else. I'm not sure if it's the same gift you're getting. I wish there were pictures.

Hey, I just looked up your blog! I didn't realize it was you. I often search for makeup swatches from high-end brands like Chanel and YSL on WOC. Your pictures usually appear in the search. I must thank you for posting your pictures because I've only been able to find a handful of people with my similar skin tone showing high-end brands (including shontay and crystalis). These are my half-ass swatches. Sorry. I was beat when I got home and didn't really do generous swatches. Plus, I don't want to disturb the logo on the shadows just yet. L to R: gold, taupe, burgundy, pink
