katred, I love Carthage .. it was my summer matte hot pink/fuschia.. I have Funny face too.. and it is a satin/glossy texture as compared to Carthage but a very beautiful fuschia shade too.

I don't recall when exactly Chanel had promised to release the Velvets, but I know they have not complied to their stated deadline.. but really.. it doesn't much matter as long as they get them in the US relatively soon.
It does surprise me that we've had them a couple of weeks now (although I think that happened with the Rouge Coco Shines as well), but I'm sure they'll be there shortly. They don't disappoint. The only thing I wish is that there were more of them to choose from.

I think we've had the velvets here in Canada for nearly a month (or even longer). We got both the Rouge Coco and the Rouge Coco Shines about a month ahead of the US too. It makes me happy coz we get everything else soooooo friggin late, lol! I feel like Chanel tries to make it up to us Canadian folks sometimes.

^^ Same here! :) My counters got the velvets but we haven't gotten the holiday collection.

I'm wearing La Distinguee today. Love the colour and finish, but i get lots of vertical lines showing on my lips. Is the only way to reduce them applying lip balm first?

Well you're in good company Miss QQ. Remember the vertical lip lines on some of these models?

Maybe the idea is to have us clammoring for the Rouge Coco Baumes by spring time!

Gail -- wow, I had forgotten how dry the models lips looked in some of those pics

I think I will apply lip balm first, and then blot it off . . . if we ever get the Velvets, that is

Have there been any hints about the RC Baumes? I looked up what the word mean and it said "lip balm". But I'm sure you all knew that! Curious to see the color/texture!

Yes, my lips look like those! lol. Chanel had a balm in the Rouge Hydrabase or Aqualumiere range too, before both lines were discontinued. Excited about the new balms, wonder if they have colour.

I am totally addicted to lip balm -- so I am excited about the Baumes. One night I was getting ready for bed and I was talking to my hubs while putting on lip balm and he says "do you realize you've been putting on lip balm for like 5 minutes?" LOL

Yep, I hope we get those Velvets soon. I just want to hit the "buy" button already!

I'm actually hoping the Baumes don't come out any time soon...I'm still catching up with the Shines!

Wondering if I should ask my friend in HK to pick up the Velvets I've been wanting...but of course knowing my luck by the time she purchases them and sends them to me I bet they'll be available for sale here. >_>

I walked by (well, attempted to walk by... I always fail at that) one of my Chanel counters today and got kidnapped. They gave me a quick makeover, so I'm trying out the Rouge Allure Velvet formula and the cream shadow formula for the first time. So far, no allergic reaction on the eyes, which is good news as long as I don't owe you money. The shimmer isn't as pronounced as I thought it would be when I swatched it on my hand.

The RAV feels amazing. Lancome have been my favourite matte lipsticks for a while, but I think that this might take their place. It's not at all drying (and my lips are particularly dry today) and the pigmentation is to die for. Unfortunately, she put some gloss on top and I was drinking a coffee, so I can't give an accurate report on the wear time. As a rule, lipsticks don't last more than a few hours on me, so I don't usually consider length of wear an issue. (I don't care if I have to touch up.) By the time I got home, My lips had faded a bit, but here's a crappy phone pic of me just after she'd finished. I'm wearing La Sensuelle and, even though the photo isn't great, it is a pretty accurate representation of the colour.

My two favorite fuchsia's... along with Armani's Pink 520. 3 different formulas... same great pink color.

I love that photo Katred! Omg... look at that lip color. It's so rich... I can't wait for them to hit the States!

I didn't buy it, because I wanted to test out the formula first, but I can tell you that I'm going back for at least one and quite likely more.

katred.. you look gorgeous again!

I have 5 of these (Furtive, La Distinguee, La Caline, Le Exuberante, La Rafinee)..mainly the pinks and beige/ivories... no reds for me yet.. I need to go and try it tomorrow.

I hope it looks as good on me as it does on you!!
