Hmmm. Interesting. I think though because both the FNO and holiday lipsticks are RAVs they're probably still excited about them in general, no? I guess we'll find out...

My guess is that only certain RAV colors are going to be discontinued but that the RAV's in general will be sticking around for at least a little while. I was just surprised that two are already being discontinued.

You're right. This color is so pretty in person. I wish that I could wear it but I know that it won't even show up on my lips.

I haven't bought any of the new RAs. I feel that since they are perm, I don't have to hurry and get them, though visiting this thread makes me want to get them now. I want some of them eventually! Havent try Gracile on my lips, but i think i will like it. It reminds me of a less peachy Discrete. I am visiting Hong Kong in October and I'm saving for a haul on brands I don't have access to here, such as NARS, LMdB, Chantecaille and hopefully more.

I got an email today from Nordstrom announcing the new RAs. I also went by my counter yesterday and they have them in stock. There was no special display, but they did remove all of the old RAs. I swatched them all except the three I already have. The colors are excellent! Here are some pics. The lighting in the store was too bad for my camera, so I took them outside in the car.


Exaltée - Passion - Incandescente - Palpitante - Pimpante
Coromandel - Rouge Noir - Déterminée - Excentrique - Inimitable



Séduisante - Secrète - Gracile



I think Gracile and possibly Pimpante may be the only two colors that wouldn't look right on me. I was planning to buy Passion and Palpitante next, then I was going to slow down and buy the rest over time. But I really like Déterminée. It's a really pretty plum-mauve. I think I'll get that one instead with either Passion or Palpitante. They don't show up well in my swatches, but Passion is a strong red color and Palpitante is true to the raspberry red description. I also like Incandescente. It's more of a dark orange/orange-red color on me. It reminds me of MAC So Chaud, but they're not the same. Séduisante and Secrète do appear to be similar. I think I like Secrète a bit more. I love Inimitable. It has this beautiful pearlescent sheen. I already ordered Inimitable last week and I can't wait for it to be delivered tomorrow.

I'm thinking I should get Rouge Noir. I've been away from the dark lips for so long, but now I'm being tempted. I've been rocking brights all year for perhaps 2 years now. It will be good to get a couple of dark lipsticks back in my arsenal (after dumping almost all of my old ones ).

I have " Pirate ", " Passion " and " Inimitable ". 3 deep red lipsticks, all pretty. Inimitable has a satin finish but it's still red, both intense and soft. " Famous " has pink undertones, with shimmer . 4 are great, along with the new vivid Estee Lauder I think the RA really have gorgeous pigments ( haven't tried the Extrait de Rouge from Guerlain ) yet

I don't wear makeup often. Just occasionally. And I had a weird moment wherein I wanted to get rid of my makeup, and just keep my HGs

Now I catch myself thinking about it from time to time. Get it or not?

If you loved wearing it and it looked great on you, then maybe you should get it again. But if you think it will be a waste of your money to get it, then don't.

I took a look at the new RAs today, and while I didn't get to try any on my lips I could already tell the formula difference when swatching on my hand. I didn't leave with any but I definitely know I'll be buying Inimitable and Coromandel first. Inimitable has this slight coral tone to it that I absolutely love, almost like a much deeper and redder Flamboyante (which is my all-time HG lippy). Coromandel is more similar to the Laque version than the old RA, which is awesome as I loved the color of the Laque but hated the formula. I was disappointed at how close to Hyde Park Enjouee was, so I'll have to grab a backup of Flamboyante after all. Also both Secrete and Seduisante were both waaaay too light for my tastes. I swatched La Raffinee beside the two and LR was a good two tones deeper. I'm not completely enamored with the RAV formula so I hope Chanel releases a similar color in the new RA formula.

Also tried out the new perfume Coco Noir...it's not bad per se, but I wonder whose decision it was to call this Noir since there's absolutely nothing noir about it. It's bright, clean, sweet, and soft. Like Coco Mademoiselle minus the screeching high notes that makes me hate it with the fury of a thousand suns, but it lacks the depth and sultriness of Coco. Overall, disappointingly generic. I'll still grab a bottle at some point to add to my Chanel bottle collection--the black bottle is too gorgeous, and I find it a more tolerable Coco Mademoiselle--but there's so much Chanel could've done with this and didn't. Bah.

elkaknits tried ordering from Chanel first, but Excessive keeps disappearing from her cart whenever she tries to check out. She called customer service and it disappears on their end as well.

We are doing great. Just 6 more weeks until our house is done, not that I am counting down the seconds or anything!! ha
I got Seduisante, Secrete, and Extatique from the new RAs and am loving them! I am dying for Star Dust, too. I am really excited for the entire chanel holiday collex

QoS - I was wondering how close Inimitable is to Flamboyante. Thanks for answering that. I experienced Coco Noir too, and my first impression is that it smells distinctly Chanel. At first it smells crisp and clean, but if you smell it again after maybe 15 or 30 mins, it smells less bright but warmer instead. I agree that it smells less sultry than Coco and less sharp than Coco mademoiselle. I like Coco but not on me. Instead, I bought a bottle of Coco Mademoiselle a few years ago as I liked it very much, but got tired of it in less than a year's time. Luckily I bought the 50ml bottle only so it is finishing soon, and I will get something else, maybe coco noir, or Jimmy Choo or something from Dior. The Chanel perfume specialist who presented Coco Noir to a group of us at a private event said if we wear Coco Mademoiselle for day, then we would like Coco Noir for night. If we wear Coco for night, then Coco Noir for day. So do you war Coco for night? I received a 5ml miniature Coco Noir at the event, and I agree that the bottle is beautiful.
