Chanel Spring 2011

Katred, I will have to upload a photo. I took some at home with my long blonde wig, but not the feathery mask. My friend took a bunch with everyone's masks, so I will have to get one from her and load it here. Everyone kept calling me Baby Spice with the blonde wig, so I had to take it off LOL

Elegant -- yes, every girl needs a white feathery mask!! It was such a fun party idea -- never been to a Mardi Gras party before tonight :)

Shimmer -- I really need to get depotting. I am afraid it would take me hours . . . glad it worked out for you. You've inspired me!
Oh Ladies...I am having such a hard time with Specktra!
censored.gif

We got a brand new computer for me (sent my 1 year old comp to my sister in law, who was in desperate need after hers crashed a week or so ago) and it just doesn't like Specktra...at all! I can't ever seem to log-in on a regular basis, it looks all wonky when I go to my subscribed threads, but the worst part is it crashes/freezes often when visiting this site! My hubby can't figure it out, and other sites work just fine for me, even other forum sites...I don't understand the problems?!? I will be on here much less, if at all, unless we can fix these issues.

I hope you're all doing well, and I hope I get all of this figured out ...I miss my Chanel friends!
I hope you fix it soon, let me know if I can help (which computer do you have and which browser?)

Me and my sis went shopping to a city 2,5 hours away from us, and they are having Carnival there at the moment--similar to Mardi Gras, but probably less refined-- so unexpectedly we got to party with the locals :) It's always to see how creative some people can get with their outfits!

Do show us that pic! Me and my friend have worn black feathery masks to a club night, it was fun!

Oh, Michelle, the party sounds like a great time! And yes, we're looking forward to pics!! Glad you had a good time.......

I need to do some de-potting myself here soon - I was going to try to do it last weekend but didn't get around to it. It does take awhile, but it's worth it to take up less space - and more room for new additions to the stash!

I have some swatches to get up here, and a FOTD or 2 - I'm so far behind I think I'm first.

Hmmm, don't think I can pull off the brassy blonde barbie wig! I even did blue eyeshadow to match my barbie hair. And my dark eyebrows are a great touch with the blonde -- eeeks! This is a lil scary ladies. I took off my feathery mask, because they were getting in my eyes -- but hubs seemed to enjoy his Zorros Mardi Gras mask :) This is before the party and before we got all of our beads! Next year, I'll get more adventurous :)

And Cheryl, I think I need you to come hold my hand while I depot! I am so afraid to do it -- I can just see myself breaking all of my shadows. But it will be soooo nice to have them in the palettes.

Depotting isn't hard, Michelle! I depotted my first mac e/s in December last year and I didn't break a single e/s. Finished depotting all 14 and they are now sitting nicely in a 15 e/s palette! The edges of the first e/s had a few dents at the powder because I panicked and tried to use a tweezer to pull it out when I didn't heat it enough (used candle because I don't have flat iron). But that was the worst thing that happened. All the rest came out in perfect conditions. :) Good luck, it's really nice to have them in palettes and you can admire the colours in a glance. And you two look so cute in the photo! I love your dress, and you look so happy! And yes, your husband does look like he is having a great time with his mask! Heehee!

I can't wait to get more 15-pan palettes and depot the rest of my shadows!
Michelle, you kinda look like Shakira with that wig!

MissQQ -- you have given me the courage to depot!! I have a few that have already shattered in the pots that I can practice on first. And Cheryl gave me step by step instructions of how she does it also -- so hopefully I'll be good to go. I just can't handle all of the storage bins that I have my pots in.

Elena -- Shakira -- hee hee! Now only if I had her body to go with the wig!

Michelle ... I love your wig!! That must have been a great party!

I must confessed too that I am a bit afraid to depot, although I just only have 3 potted e/s, so it's not like a really "need" to get them depotted to gain some space =/

Michelle, what a great picture! It looked like you had a great time! And don't worry about depotting - just be patient and take it slow the first few times. If you heat the glue long enough you'll be fine. Some folks use a pin to stick through the back to pop the metal pan out - I haven't tried it that way, but will this time out. I find there's usually enough space between metal and plastic to slide the exacto knife underneath. Just don't get in a hurry with it. You'll be fine!

Elena, I LOVE your new avatar! You look beautiful!!! I love that bold red lip on you! And I'm also so glad you're posting here! We have a nice little collection of Chanel (or should that just be 'makeup?) lovers here, don't we!

Enjoy your Sunday girls!

^^ Sounds great to me! Love the costumes Michelle! If you end up finding the heat depotting method difficult try the alcohol method:

Just be sure to use a little craft wirecutter from Walmart, not a big one of your hubby's -- his will make a mess, I can guarantee that from personal (bad) experience. I do all of mine this way now. For me it's much easier.

Michelle, you and your husband look awesome!! We're "graduating" from our training on Tuesday and doing a Mardi Gras theme for graduation. Our whole class bought Mardi Gras masks and Snuggies (inside class joke, there) to wear for the party.

I'll meet you at the Cheesecake Factory
greengrin.gif

Isn't that today.
I'm going to the Cheesecake Factory on Saturday to celebrate my birthday! I'll be the big three-oh on Friday!!

I appreciate everyone's depotting tips. I'm really anxious to get going on it. I think I will use a lot more shadows if I can actually see all of them in my palettes.

Cheryl -- hope you enjoyed Cheesecake Factory today!

Elegant -- any more shopping today?? I'll join you and Cheryl for Cheesecake Factory any day. (have you had the Luau salad?? swoon!)

Thank you for your compliments on my pic, Shypo and Elegant! I was getting really bored with the old one, and I'd really overdone it with blush there, haha, embarrassing! I'm straining my tired brain to think what lip products I've used for that bold red lip. I think it was a random red lipstick I've found in my stash by 3 Custom Colours, which was called Ballet Russe, but it's nothing like Chanel's Ballet Russe (which it is supposed to be an imitation of?) with Spanking Rich dazzleglass on top.

And yes, I am a huge fan of our little Makeup Addict Anonymous group! Chanel threads are the first ones I check now, lol! I check the Mac ones mainly for information, while I check this one for great entertainment :)
