No offense, but this is some Maury drama here.

It's not the fact that this 15 year old girl is having sex that bothers me but the fact that she's most likely having unprotected sex. Who knows who she'll run into later on and can catch something from?

Which part are you quoting, 4bidden?

I think that like one of the articles just posted states, it's about over-sexualisation as well as sex-ed. I think the age of innocence debate is valid/interesting and worth a mention too.

What honestly pisses me off is how media is ALWAYS around, no matter what happends, having no respect for people's life. This story was already broadcasted all over the world, and the sun website keeps posting updates. People in such hard situations have enough to deal with already, not including press telling their story on every corner.

Oh, sorry If I wasn't clear =] But I was referring to the 13 year old boy needed a DNA test to see if he really is the father because now other boys are coming forward saying they are the father also.

Now two other people are claiming to be the childs father.what worries me is that the whole thing is being blown out of proportion by the media. this should be something that should have been kept under wraps. Personally if I was the mother of the girl I would raise the child as my own and make sure my daughter finishes school and try as much as possible not to burden the 13 yr old boy with it because he is just a baby.

Supposedly it's possible that WAY more than just 2 guys are claiming or could be the actual father.

I'm not sure why they are even okay with this being in the media. If it was me I wouldn't want this to be all over the news or for it to be made a big deal of.

If there was ever a baby that should have been given up for adoption... It's probably this one. It doesn't sound like anyone can financially support this kid.

It is sooo Maury, so right! The Sun is vile as is most media, and the way people clamor and skank their way to get into these mags is so gross! It feels kind of sick to be reading all this stuff about the sex lives of kids.

So according to these guys, when she was 13 she was having all these boys staying over in her bed? IMO that's child neglect that her mother would allow this.

I agree. I don't think any of the families are even responsible enough to really even parent the baby let alone their own kids.

Do you know what gets me the most??? Her family gain £30,000 a year in benefits for doing (excuse my language) fuck all and live in a nice house in Eastbourne. Seriously, I hate my country sometimes. If you work hard, you get shit all, if you do nothing, you can get £30,000+ in benefits. Hard working people such as us on here and our families, get f.a. My Dad worked out recently that out of his 5 days a week 2.3 days wages goes to Mr Brown as he's in the highest tax bracket. Its ridiculous.

And do you know what Gordon Brown says he'll do to make our economy better? He has the choices between slashing benefits, university fee's, or heavily taxing everyone for the next twenty years. Guess what hes going to do? Heavily tax us for the next twenty years. Arsehole.

ANYWAY, I've gone off on a tangent. I think its absolutely disgusting and it makes me feel sick that these parents have let this happen. And the fact that it possibly might not be he is... I'd be ashamed of myself and my family.

p.s it also makes me laugh that its happened in Eastbourne... its not too far from me and its got a huge retirement area rate! lol! its supposed to be full of oldies!

I hate sounding really cold, but this story isn't special beyond the kid looking so young. 13 year olds have been having babies for awhile... It's sad and disturbing, but it's not that unique.

I agree on the child neglect part. I'm sorry and I hope I don't offend anyone but what parent in the right mind allows their teen daughter to have boys sleep over, not just in the house but in HER bed also?!! That's just asking for trouble especially when you know that your daughter and yourself are not ready to bring a baby into this world and raise it properly.

How easy is it to get benefit in the UK, I'm just curious? I'm not really sure how easy it is here in the U.S., my family when I was younger was on foodstamps for a short time but stopped. Were only receiving Medicaid and assistance with some of our utilities and that's it. From what I have heard it's not all that easy to get on SSI benefits, disability or unemployment really. Now I'm not saying that there aren't people in the U.S. that abuse the system because believe me, there are a TON! But it sucks knowing that the money you have to work for doesn't go to more important things. I am all for helping out families or individuals who are in actually need of help but being lazy isn't a reason.

I've heard of a very similiar issue happening with many of the girls who I went to middle school with. But yeah it doesn't make headlines. I just hope this whole fiasco goes away eventually for the baby's sake. I'm not sure whey these people aren't doing more to keep their privacy and not have every little detail of their lives out there in the open for everyone to read.

To be honest, I don't really know for sure because obviously I haven't tried lol. I can give you examples I personally know of but I don't know how you actually go about gaining it! Benefits
That website explains some of it.

But, I'm probably gonna get slammed for saying but this is my 'middle class' views and probably my nearly 60 year old parents opinions rubbing off on me haha... I get the impression all you need to do is go to the doctor with a twinge in your back and your signed off sick for a year. I remember there was a scandal around my area about a doctor that everyone would go to because word got round he'd sign you off sick for anything hah. I know not always we don't know the full story behind everything, but theres been SO many times when I've seen cars pull into disabled parking spaces with disabled badges, and they get out of the car fine, walk away fine, and you think, wtf?! Of course there are people who own cars and are not disabled themselves, but the badge is for a member of family/friend etc who they drive around, but they shouldn't be using it without them in the car lol.

One example I have of one situation illustrating how easy it can be to get benefits in the UK is a woman who works for my mum. My mum runs a cleaning contractors company (they clean offices, businesses etc). One of their employees works under 16 hours a week and specifically asked for no more than 16 hours a week as if you work more than that you will lose your benefits (which benefits i don't know... income support i think). Her husband is the same, not working for the same company but same thing, less than 16 hours. Theres no reason for this employee of my mum's not to work more than 16 hours a week as far as she is aware - she isn't disabled etc, as far as my mum is concerned she just is lazy as horrible as that sounds. A couple of months ago, their house got repossesed as they couldn't afford their mortgage payments, which of course isn't a very nice thing to happen at all. They went to the local Borough Council about it and were put to the top of a waiting list for housing as they had children which is fair enough. They now live a 5 bedroom brand new house paying only £100 a month rent of what should be £1200 (the council are paying the rest), when in reality, this employee could go out and get a job and work full time along with her husband so they could have paid their mortgage payments in the first place! I know it sounds an awful thing to say what I just said, but its truth. People who work hard don't get rewarded, but those who don't want to work more than 16 hours a week now live a lovely house in a nice area! ughh does my brain in.

Obviously I'm not saying that everyone is like it as there are obviously individuals and families who genuinely need help and appreciate these benefits, but you read so many stories about not necessarily benefit fraud, but just what appears to be laziness, and it makes you think 'where does my tax money go?'

Chances of slamming are high in the region, with a slight chance of showers and bitchy undertone.
(haha Im sorry I HAD to jump on this! I love you guys <3 )

You might get a lot of backlash with this one, but I appreciate your view point.

Hahaha I thought someone might <3. I always get told by my friends if I say anything about subjects like this 'you sound so middle class', thats why I said it lol, I don't think I do

I know my opinion isn't gonna be the same as everyone elses, but from reading articles in newspapers etc, you just get the impression that thats what goes on. Like I said, I don't know for sure how easy it is to gain benefits etc. But, there is the argument that you can earn more by living on benefits than by going to work, I think its called the 'poverty trap'? Something trap anyway. An example of this is a girl I work with who is returning to work on Tuesday after maternity leave and originally she was going to come back full time, or work 4 days or something, but now she's only doing 16 hours a week because she'll gain income benefit, and by doing this she will earn more money than if she was to work 4/5 days a week! Its a difficult thing to discuss really, as like I've said we never know the full story behind why people do what.

I think at the moment the government are cracking down on benefit fraud. There's been an up on television adverts about benefit thieves and how they'll find you etc. On the news a couple of weeks ago there was a report on a man who had claimed he was in a wheelchair and couldn't walk and was claiming disability benefits, then his neighbour filmed him mowing his lawn and climbing on top of his garage!!
