I have some good news! My hunt for Genial has finally ended!!!

I tried calling my Nordies Chanel counter again yesterday, same shitty clueless attitude. I check Karla Sugar's site quite frequently and she just happened to post something with her Chanel counter's info and I thought...what the hell, I'll try contacting them and see if they can help me out (they're always incredibly helpful and awesome with her).

So, I e-mailed one of them and within 45 minutes she had already responded, started a search for me, and found 2 items on my list of 4 (Ballerina NP, Venus Glossimer) somewhere in Texas! She said it would be pretty hard to find either Genial or Super though, like a needle in a haystack, but would try anyway. Well, she called me this morning and managed to track down a single tube of Genial in Michigan! She got my billing info and address and said everything would ship free of charge. Super wasn't to be found anywhere in the US, and she even called a friend of hers who works in Paris to see if she could find it for me...no luck, but amazing customer service!!! I went ahead and ordered Super on Izzy's, thanks Cheryl!

So now all 4 items are headed my way and I'm overjoyed! I've never experienced customer service like this before and I just had to share, it was really amazing. I'm keeping her info for future use, just in case.

Oh, btw...if anyone else is looking for Venus, she mentioned there are still a few more in the Nordies system (not many, but still some). If you call your local store, they should be able to do a search and find it for you. If you have problems with your counter like I did, let me know and I'll pass along her info.

I don't know if any of you are interested in Rock & Republic items, but HauteLook.com is having a 50% off sale right now. I've been interested in trying a few things from the line for a while now and I figured a big sale was just the time to do so! With the sale the blushes are $20 each and the e/s $14 each, much more reasonable. I got Bedroom and Spank blushes and Affair and Spy e/s, can't wait to get them! I'm including links to swatches on Karla's site, just in case anyone's interested.

So today I went down to Holts and picked up a Rouge Allure Laque in 79 Mandarin. TBH I preferred Phoenix but I didn't have a colour like this so I got it instead.

It's a great rusty orange colour that'll look nice if I choose to do a shadow as well. (Won't be too overpowering)

I must say if you live in Toronto I would highly recommend you go the Chanel counter in Holts on Bloor. I've had two great experiences with them. The fragrance lady Linda knows everything about the history of their products and thinks it's her lifes goal to tell you. It's great to find someone who is passionate about their job. The manager (who's name I forget) is also really sweet. She took down my name for the next fragrance session and signed me up for a consultation for when the fall collection comes out. A month away mind you! Like I said in my Burberry post kind sales associates can make or break whether I continue to buy from a company and they most definitely pass with flying colours. They are not snooty in the slightest and if they can be friendly I wonder why MAC MUAs can't -.-

Ohhh their eyeshadows and blushes are awesome!! And their glosses smell like MAC's, I only buy from them when their on sale tho.

Meg -- I stocked up as soon as I got their email! I got Spank last time and loved it! I got some shadows and blushes this time. I have never been impressed with any of their glosses -- but the shadows and blushes are fab, and I must say I like the packaging (a little over the top, but in a cool way). I really shouldn't have gone on another splurge . . . oopsies

I'm glad to hear good things about the R&R products! I'm so excited to get them, and I too dig the packaging...a little much maybe? Yep, and I love it!

In other news, my hubby brought me home a gift today after work. Chintz RC! He said he wanted to get me something from Chanel, and saw the new stuff and tried to remember the names of what I already picked up (lol!). He said he thought Chintz was "a pretty color for my gorgeous wife" so he got it.

He's so awesome! I can't believe he did all of that for me...and trying to remember the make-up names I've been talking about recently?!? Too cute! I'm so lucky to have him.

Oh my! Meg, what a sweet hubby!! That is SO cute! My husband leaves my selections to me - it works out better that way -

I'm so glad you were able to find the items you were seeking (and we may be calling you for the MUA's name/number) - thank you Winthrop for that suggestion!

I ordered a couple of R&R things too - I've never tried their line, maily because of how expensive they are - I got a couple of blushes and a couple of eye shadows - thanks for the tip!! Can't wait to see what all of the fuss is about!

I'll post something in the Burberry thread later (thanks, Meg, for opening this!) - yesterday was a hot miserable day in NYC (with no time for makeup spying

) and I didn't get home until late. I don't think I can ever be too cold again, and the heat wave continues here in the Northeast!! Enough already!!

I moved away from the hot humid South and now I feel like I'm back!!

MissQQ - Rose Dentelle and Chintz are very close, but I would say that RD is more pink, and Chintz is more on the peach side.....would you ladies agree?

Thank you, I totally will! I do have both now and they're really close in color. RD is more cool and pinky-pink while Chintz is more peachy-pink, slightly warmer. It's not a hugely noticeable difference, but I'm pleased to have both for different natural lip looks. If I can find some good light today I'll take some swatch pics to share.

Ewww yuck Cheryl, that kind of heat is NOT for me. I like warm, not hot or gross hot or butt-sweating on your couch hot. I'm a So Cal girl recently transplanted into snow...I'm not sure how I feel about that yet but it's far better than steamy muggy heat. Stay cool over there!

I'm looking forward to trying the R&R stuff and hearing what you think about it and Burberry too! So many new things to try lately, I think I'm almost at a burn out point. Time to chill out for a bit...or at least until Dare To Wear (loving those glosses!).

Yep, I totally agree with your comparison of RD and Chintz!

Add me to the list of agree-ers, lol, on RD vs Chintz. I also agree with Temptalia that they look more different on lips than they do swatched on skin or in the tube. I love both but I actually think Chintz looks a little better on me than RD. Very glad I picked it up.

I just received the mailer from Chanel telling me the fall collection will be launched on 23rd July!

Oh, the mailer also encouraged me to make a pre-order of Paradoxal, which makes me wonder if we have limited stocks. Is Paradoxal sold out at any of your counter?

Hehehe... as long as I have water to cool off in, I prefer muggy heat, for now. You'll probably enjoy the snow some days, it really is beautiful and that crisp cold feeling can actually be nice... some days. But after a few snowfalls, it tends to become a PITA!!!

So ladies, I am going to send an email now to my builder about moving up the closing date for our house! I am told they are ahead of schedule, and now they're leaving it up to us to provide them with a timeframe... but now that we're already at my mom's, we want to utilize it enough to at least cover our closing costs, so we're looking at proposing a date 4 weeks earlier!

You have a super sweet husband!! How thoughtful! Chintz is the color I got for my friend, maybe I need it too LOL
The only bummer about getting the Rock and Republic stuff from HauteLook is that it took me 3 weeks to get it last time! So this time I have to be patient. I just love the blush compacts -- this time I got Call Me (which actually sold out), Tease, and Kinky. I got 3 purple shadows and 3 neutrals. They are so soft and pigmented. I got 4 glosses last time and they had absolutely no staying power at all on me -- so they sit there, unused -- but the packaging is too cute for me throw them away! One thing: If you do an order and then want to do another order during the same event (i.e. during the same R&R sale period) -- they will take off shipping charges for the 2nd order. Yay for that!
I have dreams of Chanel doing a 50% off sale . . .
