Re: Getting your partners name tattoed?

personally i think getting your so's name tattooed pretty much signifies the beginning of the end of a relationship, so with the majority, i'd say no.

my ex husband has my name tattooed on his arm and i feel SO bad that he's pretty much stuck with it because i doubt he could afford to ever take it off. haha i told him long ago to look on the bright side--it shouldn't be hard finding another jennifer.

once someone told me they knew a guy who tattooed his wife's name on him and when they got divorced, he got a big 'VOID' stamp tattooed over it. pretty clever. haha

in all seriousness, it's probably not so good of an idea.

I've always said that I'll only get my husband's name on me after we've been married 50 years. The only names you should ever get done are those of your children.

NO!! NO!! NO!! NO!! NO!!....I can't say no enough. Doing just that was the 2nd dumbest thing I've ever done in my life...First was marrying him...LOL
I'll be honest and say that at the time I was sure we would be together forever. We had made it almost 5 years, and we faced a lot. About 14 months after the tattoo I was leaving him .... And now I'm stuck with the tattoo...luckily its his nick name "BOSS" which comes from our last name (which I'm still stuck with) So I can play it off a little...but I know what it stands for

You have to weigh your options. It's a personal decision. But I do agree with what most of the other ladies said, Get something meaningful to the both of you and maybe both of you can get it done.

In my opinion and experience, it seems that getting you lover's name permanently tattooed on you is a surefire way to ensure that you'll break up!

I haven't had that done, but I AM getting my daughter's name done for my upcoming birthday.

When and if I eventually get married, I'll be getting his name tattooed- IN HENNA, for him to find on our honeymoon

I love my partner dearly but there's no freakin' way I'd get his name inked on me.

Just... no.

If you want to get a tattoo to represent your relationship, get something symbolic, something that has more to do with you then him, something about the place you are at this point in your life and what it means to you, find something thats symbolic of that. Because who knows what will happen in the future, and if something does atleast youll have that symbol to remind you of a certain time in your life and you can look back on how you've grown and be happy with your choice of tattoo. All im saying girl, is, if you get his name tattooed on you and then he cheats (this is just a what if), youre going to want to rip your skin right off your body

i love ink. i mean...love...but eff no.

i'd never get a dude's name put on me because then if he left, or i left, it'd be like a constant reminder to me of whatever went wrong. and i'd never be able to get rid of it.

LOLZ ¨Sorry to sound so emo¨ that´ funny, well i say , just get matching tatoos, or... something that identify your relationship, or maybe you can get the titl of your fave song as a couple. or maybe just a number like 678? nobody will know the meaning unless you tell...
have a matching tatoo with an ex, we split 4 1/2 years ago. but It doesn´t bother me to have it, because when I did it, I was in love (or at least i thought i was lol) and whether I like it or notit´s part of my life and I should not regret

Re: Getting your partners name tattoed?

I agree all the girls make so much sense, but i personally always wanted something like that: that me and by bf/husband would one day tatoo each other's names the same day. It would be so meaningful. I wont ever do it just from my side, but damn, if we both did, it would be meaningful. Plus, even if we broke up one day, at least he would be stuck with my name aswell haha. But ok, aint happening for me. my bf says tatoo is a nono so i dont mind.

I think you shouldnt do that on one hand, cause thats a huge commitment! On the other hand, if you are 100% sure you wanna do it (not sure "he loves you" or sure "you gonna be together") but sure you wanna do a tatoo like that, i would say go for it, thats only your choice. Please be careful, think twice cause all the ladies above make SO much sense.

i definitely would. i'm thinking about it, actually. he has mine tattooed on his forearm (it was a surprise from singapore).

i don't understand the whole "tattooing names means you'll break up" theory. that makes no sense. if you were meant to break up, you'll break up.. i don't think ink has anything to do with that. even if you do break up, what's wrong with having a tattoo there that represents someone you loved, and who loved you, and was a part of your life?

As a translation for you: The three little stars behind "Seal" on Heidi's arm stand for the three children.

Re: Getting your partners name tattoed?

I would never get anyone named tattooed on me except my kids. My boyfriend and I have matching tattoos. I have 7 shooting stars on my left foot which represents my, boyfriend of 4 years, my 2 sons, my two sisters, my nephew & my brother. They are a variety of sizes and colors and my boyfriend has 3 shooting stars on his arm one for me, and our 2 kids. So stick to getting symbols.
