I was under the impression that the snow globe was made of glass...but it's plastic??? How cheap! With the hike up in price, I was sure it was due to expensive packaging. From what I've read, there has been a decrease in product amount, and a spike in price. I'm a little disappointed :sigh:

Most times because of lurkers, when something comes into stock & its posted here...no one gets anything. By the time any of us see it - its GONE!!! Happens ALL the time.
Aw :sigh:
tom ford pretty much sets my m/u spend cap!
I said that earlier this year lol

There is no way they would ever do glass jar for that. Even more expensive brands go with plastic for their packaging (even for foundations)

I'm torn...i LOVE the overall look of the collection, but is it worth paying those prices? I remember when companies actually put more pride into their work. ...The quality of food, clothing, cars, electronics, cosmetics etc., seems to be on a steady downward path.

Many of my grandmother's cosmetic items that I was able to aquire are contained in glass jars, viles and pots. They managed to survive over 100 years. But companies have been cutting corners as of the past few decades. Plastic is not a luxury material :( but we're still paying luxury prices :sigh:

I don't think I will buy that one, it is too expensive. I don't mind spending lots of money on items (just bought a fountain pen for 420€), but I don't spend that much on makeup

Tom Ford is not sold here. Starting November, it will be available at department stores in the netherlands, and they have 1-day shipping to Belgium though...

Generally, I agree with certain expectations at a particular price point! Ordinarily I would find this too pricey but I really want the product. I actually don't mind the plastic, especially for travelling, I'm just glad it's not that cardboard :/

That's exactly what I was thinking! It will still make for a nice keepsake, but glass would have been all the more special :) I think the standout pieces as far a keepsake item goes, would be the lipstick. I could see my granddaughters or great-granddaughters wanting to hold on to that in remembrance of me

I'm still getting the meteorites, just wish it was made with more quality materials :) But I can definitely see the functionality for those that want/plan to travel with it...if it was housed in cardboard, I would definitely not be picking it up!

Half of the pearls would rub up against the cardboard and be lost lol

that's true
most of the companies are being really cheep with their product packaging at least (and less and less product inside)

even chanel look at their body stuff like lotion or shower gel doesn't even have a pump or anything just a a big hole on top and it's 50 something $ . even Dove can put a damn pump on their lotion

recently i talked to one executive from large fragrance company about the product packaging change he said they will repackage all the body stuff into tubes instead of bottle with the pump because it's cheaper for them

a lot of women do not like glass because it's not travel friendly or it will break if it falls... I honestly do not care much about packaging unless it's super nonfunctional.
