Wow, that is great news! So glad that it isn't anything more complicated...I'm happy for you that this can be easily treated with some meds!

I am so glad to hear the news. I know this has been nerve racking. I hope the meds will make you have more energy.

Before my mother was on the meds, she had horrible depression. That all went away with treatment. You may feel like a whole new person with treatment.

Wow, it has been FOREVER since I last updated this thread. I have no clue if anyone reads this anymore, but I'll post anyway!

I have been through a lot since my last update last year about thyroid. The mass on my thyroid keeps growing. I go twice a year to have bloodwork & an ultrasound done and then follow up with my thyroid DR. I last saw her in March. I really haven't been happy with her. Each time I visit her office, the mass will have grown by a few centimeters. She keeps saying "If it gets bigger next time, we'll biopsy it." and it had gotten bigger from last year when I went to see her again in March. She also refused to let the surgeons my mother works for (who remove thyroids & biospy them quite frequently) do a biopsy on me, she'd rather me to see her doctors at their hospital. No thanks.

I had my last ultrasound done a few weeks ago. Since I work in the hospital where I get my ultrasounds & bloodwork done, I usually have access to my medical records. The mass on my thryroid has gotten bigger and now there is a cyst growing in the mass. I cancelled my appointment with my thyroid DR and am now seeing one of my mom's doctors, who is a general surgeon who is very familiar with thyroids, doing biopsys and removing thyroids. This whole thing has beeen a serious serious pain. I think I'm going to get the biospy done, which will just be a fine needle aspiration that will draw fluid/cells off of the thryroid mass to see if it's benign or malignant...let's hope it's good!!

Hey sweety, I know you posted this a while ago but...

My mum had the same as you, but her symptoms were different. For example, in the winter, when everyone was wearing coats, she could go out wearing a vest and not be cold etc. She got a goiter (sp?) with hers, and had to have it removed. It hasn't affected her fertility, this was before me and my brother were born, my brother is now 30 and i'm 20. After she had the goiter removed shes absolutely fine, no problems at all as far as i'm aware, so hopefully that'll give you a bit more reassurance

Hope everything is well
