No, i totaly understand the point your getting. And I think it works, to an extent. By overuseing the word, you desensitize people to the meaning, or even change it. That way the person saying the words, can't have any power over you. It would be like some guy calling me a bitch, I'd probably be like, your right, i am a bitch. Whats your point? Assuming their intent to hurt or offend me by useing that word. The word itself, doesn't mean much to me anymore. Sticks and stones right?

However...

Lets say that same guy took things farther, and somehow I ended up in a situation where he had power over me. Assault, rape, blackmail, etc come to mind. And in having that power over me, was like, "Thats right, your my bitch now." In that event, I think the word bitch, in that context would be very hurtful, and further add to the dehumanization of that situation.

Does that make sense?

I get your point about how a word can change its meaning depending on the context. I think I told people we could make certain people's names mean something bad.

I still don't want people calling me stuff like "slut", "ho", etc. Basically, I've had those words used against me too many times by people attempting to be insulting that I can't really disassociate the meaning of the insulters from my friends.

What do you think of people referring to items as their "slutty skirt" for instance?

Why don't you like people who aren't your friends calling you honey? You're a sourpuss honey!

It seems fake to me. You don't know if I'm the biggest bitch who ever walked the planet or I'm nice or what.

No particularly deep reason.

I am totally with you on this one. I usually say:"I am acyually a very bitter woman. So please refrain from calling me sweetie/honey."

Btw did you guys follow this? 3 female police officers have complained that they were called whores by their supervisor. The guy was merely transfered to a different precint. Now, they are asking for more than that slap of the wrist. This happened in NYC.

What would you suggest as punishment? I'm not sure. It's bad he did that, but I'm not sure how one goes about punishing someone. I think I would demote the guy or suspend him for a period of time without pay, but I don't know if that's suitable.

So pretty much the girls I see on campus with the short-short skirts and gstrings. Ahh, now I see.

MsCuppyCakes- People use that to describe their most sexual looking clothes. Think barely there mini skirts, tops that are showing as much cleavage as possible and look like they could burst at the seams, what my friends and I call "stripper shoes" (huge plastic platforms with stilettos)

Yeah, language is complex, as well as people's actions.

I wear short skirts and g-strings i dont think i'm a whore ;p What does the type of panties I have on under a skirt have to do with anything? I wear g-strings and thongs 99% of the time, and I dont really feel the need to switch to a pair of granny panties just because I'm wearing a skirt.
My opinion, if you have the body to wear it, go for it. I dont have large breasts, so you wont find me in many low cut tops or anything like that. So I rock what I got, and thats an amazing set of legs, and i emphasize that part of me with heels and short skirts, or tight pants etc.

As long as you're wearing them when you wear a short skirt is all I ask

I was not referring to "you" in particular. But I do / have wondered why one would wear a very short, short-short, skirt, that as they walk up and down stairs people can see one's ass. I understand the comfort of g-strings, thongs and t-backs but wonder why they need to be visible to the public.

Well for one, i dont walk up and down a lot of stairs lol... And I'm usually not thinking about if the place I'm going too has a staircase/escalator while I'm getting dressed.

Second, if and when I do go on like an escalator or something, i'll put my purse behind me to cover my butt lol... And if they are under my skirt? How are they public? If i'm in a short short skirt and you see my panties, whats the difference between one pair or the other?

Right. Some of the girls that I've seen around campus, do not put their purse, bag or hold their skirt down when walking upstairs. The difference between seeing ones panties as opposed to a bare ass. Why do we need to see that? Why not leave something to the imagination?

Ugh that reminds of me of the time I was doing inventory at work with this other girl. She knew we were going to have to bend and lift and things like that. She chose to wear the shortest mini ever. It barely covered her while standing, and I often had to turn my head. I didn't want to see anything of hers.

I'm sure i'm guilty of not remembering to cover my ass on all occasions lol...

Because granny panties are ugly? lol...

I just dont like ugly panties... So i wont wear them. I'm sure I'm not the only one on here who see's their bra/panties as more than just something that goes under your clothing. I wear what makes me feel attractive, and that doesn't include ugly underwear heh. I dont think thats "whoreish" in taking pride in your bra/panties. I like going to places like VS and picking out stuff that i think it cute or sexy. And I dont believe that pretty underwear is just for wearing for him, and then having him take it off, and then wearing boring white/black/grey/nude cotton bra/panties the rest of the time.

haha lol... I think underwear aside, it's common sense to know that if your going to be bending over a lot, not to wear a short short short skirt LOL.

I think its just a case of some people being exhibitionists. They just take it to the particular level they are comfortable with. In the cases mentioned already that level is wearing revealing clothes that show their revealing underwear.
