So I just read about it, and it's confirmed that it was her mother and her older brother who were shot. The police are also looking for her 7 year old nephew and they're already questioning her sister's husband (who they think has her nephew), but they haven't pressed charges yet.

And I agree that these things shouldn't even be on the news because celebrities do need their time to grieve as well because they are normal people just like anyone else and shouldn't have paparazzi's and shit in their faces at a time like this. Idk what the deal is... but this world is full of mental psychos.

It is their duty to put out an Amber Alert for the missing child...However it is not their duty to announce to the media/world about the deaths in the house prior to all of the family being contacted. No family should have to hear about the death of their loved one on the news or see it on TV.

what a tragedy and ordeal for a family to go through. rip to those who were killed and hopefully the young boy will be found. prayers go out to the rest of the family

her parents aren't murdered. its just one of her parent (mom) and brother.

this was on the yahoo homepage and I sat here for atleast 10 seconds in COMPLETE shock. I hope they find her nephew safe and sound.. people are sick.

this is so awful. I can't imagine how she's feeling. I mean, she's riding high on her career, promoting a new movie which is getting rave reviews, and then the unimaginable happens. It's horrific.
I hope they find her nephew...

They have a suspect in custody, however Julian [younger nephew] hasn't been found or seen since the killings.

I totally agree! I keep thinking and praying for a positive outcome...The whole situation is heartbreaking but when it comes to children it just rips me to shreds...They are so defenseless and innocent.

Her song is no. 1 on the charts, she has a new movie coming out, shes engaged. Yet through out all this, that BS happened. Its very unfortunate

. I hear that the murder was possibly her brother-in-law? He was jailed for 7 years as a teenager for attempted murder, and he and his wife (jennifers sister) had just separated? Not sure how true this is.

My hearts and prayers are out to her and her family espeically as the holiday season nears

i find it really depressing that the media is only making such a big deal about this because she's a celebrity. granted, what happened is still awful. it isn't made any easier by the fact that she's famous, but honestly how many kids go missing everyday that are never even mentioned in the news?

hopefully they find julian alive and well, and they find who murdered these people and lock that scum up.

This is what the media does when it is ANY celebrity actually...Because they know it's news worthy and it's what people want to see and here and it boosts their network ratings. If my child was missing...No, no one would care nor would it boost ratings so they will not cover it. Does this make it right, No..but it's just the way the media works unfortunately.
However there has been quite a few non celebrity children in the media forever that were not celebrities ...Ex: Natalie Holloway, Caylee Anthony etc...So in all fairness there are children other than celebrity kids that monopolize the news...

that's true. but to me, this kind of thing tells me that as a society, we value celebrities more than average people and i think that's really sad.

it's great for julian that he has a famous relative so that no expense will be spared in finding him, i just feel bad that there are a ton of kids who don't have this kind of effort exerted to ensure their safe homecoming.

Even with all this national coverage and the amber alert in effect julian is still missing. The longer it takes to find him, and having the whole state on the alert and still no luck, his chances of not being alive is increasing with every moment

I hope they find the person(s) behind all of this and put them behind bars for life.

True...but there have been kids that were missing for years that were found alive and well ..so there is still a good chance he is okay....Hopefully he will beat the odds.
