MAC Après Chic Collection Discussion (December 2012)

I just received my last boxes. Amber Glow will definitely be a highlighter on me (based on an early am bare face test). It might show more over BB cream, foundation or FM, but I don't think it could be a blush. It's subtle but pretty - I'm glad I got it.

I also received my backups of AC and Glamourdaze (woot!).

Ok, I lied. I could wear AG as blush. Once I applied a thin layer of BB cream as a tinted moisturizer the redness in my cheeks was toned down just enough for this to show more. Having said that, it is a bit sparkly; I like it better as a highlighter than a blush.

I have both. Redhead is less metallic than SR. I can swatch them side by side if you want

Redhead is much prettier and more wearable

THANK YOU SO MUCH, these swatches are great! :bouquet: I must ask though, is S&G really that metallic compared to the other 2? Or did your camera just focus on that one and kind of soft focus on LY and AG? S&G just looks so mouthwateringly SHINY compared to them. :shock:

If you are hesitating, then you should probably not order them. Think of all the beautiful new makeup collections arriving this month...save your money!!! Did that help???

Wow Seven of Nine! That shade is gorgeous on you.

I only picked up Apres Chic from this collection. Tried it on this morning and it was a smudgy, patchy mess. I had balls of lipstick and crepey lines despite using Prep + Prime. Ugh! Perhaps it was the lip balm I had under the P+P. I had that on for about 20 mins though so I don't know what gives. I just wiped my lips off after lunch and applied Apres Chic again and it went on much more smoothly. It's a red-tinged terracotta on my brown pigmented lips. Not vivid and bright like it is on Seven of Nine above. I'm sure using a liner to fill my lips could brighten it if I wanted to. Nice warm color, but I'm not wowed. I suppose it wasn't meant to be a "wow" shade though.

Yes it did! I have all the MSF released in the HC collection x2 so in my mind I'm like I need to BU SR and PP too! I'm going to leave them. Thanks!

I noticed that he likes to do Cremesheen finish clearances, stains, etc. after a short time, even if the application has a well-groomed lips.
I did not give under the Apres Chic.

Yup, I was just reading here and then I saw Corally's post mentioning that they were up. First when I looked, SR was marked as sold out, a few minutes later PP was marked as sold out, but SR was available, so I quickly ordered that one. Then after my SR order PP was suddenly available again, so I snagged that one too. Two possible scenarios: either somebody was in the process of ordering and was in doubt or Douglas was messing with their site since AC is not officially mentioned under new collections yet.

The AC goodies have been up since mid-late afternoon so I don't think it was a case of Douglas messing with the site. I hope AC and AG stick around until I decide what to do about them.
