Wow, those of you who have so many lip products. How do you manage to finish using them before their shelf life is up (it's 2 years right)? Do you toss them away or do you keep them so that you can continue admiring them?

I'm just starting to build my lippies collection, but I worry that I can't finish using them up in time.

Jumping in...since My company used to make lipsticks...Lipsticks can last up to ten years depending on the climate they are kept in...the hotter your home the shorter their life span...the cooler the longer...Lipsticks are good until they turn rancid in smell..Even then they will not harm you ...Although the smell kills me....But I have MAC lippies that are 7+ yrs old and they still smell like the new ones.

Keeping them in the frig helps prolong the life as well....My house is so cold year round..I can forgo this step...

I keep them in a nice dark place. It seems to keep them longer.

I have a MAC lipstick from eons ago with the old packaging and no rancid smell.

I keep them and use them. Yes, I am gross.

However, sometimes lipsticks start smelling really waxy and no longer apply right - sometimes they get really hard. That is when I toss them (this has only really happened with some drugstore ones and Urban Decay ones). My MAC ones have stayed good over the years though. I have a couple of MAC lipsticks and lipglasses from 2001 and they still smell pretty fresh and apply nice too!

Wow, up to ten years huh? That's pretty impressive. Yay for lippies! I shall add more to my collection then.

Unfortunately I live in a warm climate country, so that'll probably take a few years off their life.

Yup! I already have a spot cleared in my office for said fridge ... the man thinks I am shopping for a wine fridge

A mini-fridge for makeup has been on my "to buy" list for quite a while. I just never have money for one. Ahahaha.

You're so lucky to have so many lippies, and your lippies are so lucky to have you as their owner.

I live in a small apartment with my family members, I don't know if I can buy my own personalized lippies fridge though. I think my parents will freak out at that!

Just curious, do the lippies change texture after storing in a fridge?

There are some teeny tiny ones meant to just hold a couple cans of pop. If you could find something like that, you could possibly fit it.

No the texture does not change unless you r fridge is to cold and you freeze them
